There's no harm in it and there is at least one good reason to support another F-Zero character: F-Zero is a popular franchise with at least two capable fighters.
And on the note of female characters, I'm not saying spam it up, but there really should be more regardless. When the only female options in a group of 35 are to be Pretty Pretty Princess, the Transvestite, Pamela Anderson, or a balloon, something's wrong. That's one of the reasons I support Dixie Kong and Krystal, though I'm not going to go crazy and push for Jody Summer and Rosalina in a realistic Smash game. And note that I only said "one of," which is also why I'm not pushing for Jody Summer and Rosalina.

So, the next two female characters who should be in are a couple of furries?  I want Dixie because she is the next most important Kong after Donkey and Diddy and that she would have an interesting moveset and abilities involving her famous ponytail as mentioned in her trophy description (and from what I've seen in DKC2 and DKC3), not because she doesn't have a penis. I want Krystal because I think she's the next most important character in the Star Fox franchise after Fox, Falco, and Wolf and that I believe she could have an unique moveset involving her staff and her psychic powers mentioned in her trophy description so she could potentially be a non-clone Star Fox character, not because she has a vagina. |

One of the reasons. A character's gentialia should never be "one of the reasons" why a character should or shouldn't be playable.

Uh, I know that site is a cesspool and all, but I went to that link and it didn't have anything immediately objectionable on it to my eyes. (Of course I didn't scroll all the way down so I probably missed the fragrant penis marking the bottom of the page, or something.)

Except having four Star Fox characters is probably overdoing it. Why the hell would you want four of those but not care if F-Zero gets another? Where's the balance?

Did I ever say I want four Star Fox characters anywhere on this thread? I've said more than once that I'd rather have Krystal replace either Falco or Wolf just to keep the Star Fox count at 3. If we aren't replacing Falco or Wolf, then I'm fine with having no playable Krystal.

The two characters I mentioned, Krystal and Dixie Kong, are two important female characters. I do not think that just because they are female characters they deserve special treatment, hence my lack of support for Rosalina and Jody Summer, but I do think that adding Dixie and Krystal on would be good idea since they are two characters who have reason to rank, their gender basically being a bonus. That's what I meant by "reason," though I should have used a different word. |

Mario has four characters, Zelda has four characters, Pokemon has four characters, and Starfox has gotten a new character per game consistently. Getting it to four is a logical idea since then you can be done with it and never have to fiddle with it again. If you try to argue that it's not "worthy" of having four characters over the length of the entire series, then you start getting into semantics about which series are worthwhile enough to "deserve" enhanced representation, which devolves into such fantastic my-series-is-better-than-yours bullshit the likes of which the world has never seen.
Me, I've always had a simple take on the whole thing: does a series have multiple characters, and not just drones? If it does, then there is nothing wrong with expecting that series to get more added in over time, since we of course are working on the assumption that the Smash series isn't going to end (since that would be amazingly silly so long as Nintendo has any interest to aiming at the core market and intends to use its franchises). Four has been established thrice over as being sort of a cap, and if an individual series has enough characters to hit that, then let them hit it. I'm not talking all at bloody once, but a new character a game, a new character every two games, a new character every three games (though if it gets that long then I'm willing to assume it's never going to happen, coughfzerocough). It's literally nothing more than building off what's already in the game. Do I expect this to happen? Not anymore, given how Brawl's roster turned out, but I freely admit that all my predictions for the series since it came out have been ultra conservative (just ask Dasher). But it annoys me to see people arguing that series that have been included since the first game and could absolutely field even just one more character should suck it up and accept what they got, since it "gives the series enough attention" (hey, F-Zero GX, how many copies did you sell again?) while at the same time touting random-ass Japanese-only NES characters and touting for other series in Smash to get plenty more additions even if they don't bloody need it at that moment in time.
