Thank you somemannerof! Dixie Kong could be a nifty bonus, too! There are some of us who think that it could be more fun to play as a team of monkeys. Johans, it is very hard to see Ice Climber on that NES bundle box... are you pointing to the Super Set bundle, right?

This one (Nana is on the left bottom corner): I'm thinking about closing this thread because we're forgetting the purpose of it and Koopaul has made this one that contains a poll.

No one has voted or posted on Koopaul's poll since around March 10. And thank you for pointing that out, I can see Nana there. That's from Super Set (Europe) or Action Set (North America)? I can't tell... Edit: I thought the purpose was to come up with a 50-character roster... but not only that but you need to explain others why your suggested character should be added (significance, representation, etc.) and how that character would work in a SSB game while staying true to their character.

more fun to play as a team of monkeys. Only thing more fun would be playing as a barrel of them. ... ... DK64 CHARACTER SELECT BARREL FOR BRAWL!!1! Seriously ,though, the only problem I have with Koopaul's poll is that, in my opinion, this format seems more suitable for debate and discussion: we just need to avoid bringing up the K-word. But, again, that's just my opinion.

You mean Krystal?
RAR ARGUE.
Thought: Pit's Final Smash shows an image of Palutena, but being a goddess, she'd be capable of being omnipresent and, more importantly, if Christ were in a Catholic church, he wouldn't be in two places at once just because the stained-glass windows showing him. It's possible that the Palutena image in Pit's Final Smash is just that, an image, meaning that it's theoretically possible to have Palutena playable.

If you read Pit's page on the Dojo, it says that's Palutena herself, not an image of her.

Then it could be explained as a god's power of omnipresence. Or in the same way that you could play as both Dr. Mario and regular Mario in Melee, should the image remain as the real Palutena in the future.

This is what I don't get... the arguments against Tom Nook being playable was because he's in the background of Smashville so it won't make sense to have two Tom Nooks at the same time... never mind that we can all play as Mario at the same time. Its like four Marios make sense but two Tom Nooks make no sense.

Since it's the same Tom Nook, they couldn't take the route they did for Dr. Mario, that's understandable. But the "No background and fighter" route I agree on.

Hey guys, did any of you notice that there are always 12 newcomers in each game, and extra characters are usually latecomers or don't really count as pure additions?
SSB Newcomers - 8 Main Characters - 2 Secondary Characters - 2 Retro / Cult / Japan-only Characters
SSBM Newcomers - 1 Main Character - 8 Secondary Characters - 5 Retro / Cult / Japan-only Characters
Sheik is not a pure addition so she doesn't count. I think Dr. Mario was a latecomer added to increase the roster number.
SSBB Newcomers - 6 Main Characters - 5 Secondary Characters - 3 Retro / Cult / Japan-only Characters - 2 Third Party Characters
Wolf and Sonic are latecomers. Zero Suit Samus doesn't count because she's not a pure addition. Toon Link doesn't count as a newcomer because he's just Young Link with a different name and look.
Following this trend since the first game, I think we can expect at least 12 newcomers planned from the beginning of SSB4's development, and maybe a few latecomers such as more clones and third party characters. This is what I think SSB4 newcomers should be:
- 5 Main Characters - 5 Secondary Characters - 4 Retro / Cult / Japan-only Characters - 2 Third Party Characters

Dr. Mario was put in as an excuse to include Dr. Mario Music. I don't see why he couldn't, though...

SSB Newcomers - 8 Main Characters - 2 Secondary Characters - 2 Retro / Cult / Japan-only Characters If SSB is the first one in the series, how can there be any newcomers to the series?

I think you know what I meant, Sqrt. But that's not the point. The point I was trying to get across is that in each game, there are usually 12 new characters with extra characters usually being added to increase the roster number or technically don't count as pure additions (like Sheik and Zero Suit Samus).
