No, I compared the series rival to the series girl. I was pointing out that the rival is more important.

Well that's some implication that Peach is on the same level as Krystal when it comes to their role in the series. Besides it's not like I'm asking to remove Wolf. What harm can adding Krystal be? Most people want her in. The only people I know who don't like her are Star Fox "purists" no offense to anyone here.

I agree that a rival (or villain) is more important than a love interest.
Now, what about sidekicks? Are they more or less important than rivals and villains? I'm asking this because what I'm about to suggest will stir controversy (again).
Falco is a sidekick, right? But Krystal is a sidekick, too, judging from what I've read about her role in Assault and especially Command. This is what I'm proposing - replace Falco with Krystal since she doubles as a sidekick and love interest. To be frank, Star Fox does not deserve four reps, in my opinion.

Why not? People want to put in a million Mario characters but Star Fox can't have four? Besides I think most people would be fine with the idea. You try to make the most happy.

REPLACING is the thing I don't like about that idea. As Koopaul said, people want to put in a million Mario characters. Why SHOULDN'T Star Fox have four?

That's not a good argument. We have to take all the Nintendo franchises to consideration before we make a roster. It is not Mario Smash Bros. So, balancing the number of reps for all franchises is key here. What if we need to sacrifice the 4th Star Fox slot to add a character from a newly added franchise like Punch-Out, Nazo no Murasamejou, or Sin & Punishment?

That's the same line of thinking responsible for the "-insert character here- DIDN'T GET IN BECAUSE OF ROB" pack of crap. We have no evidence that certain series have any kind of priority over other characters, just that certain characters made it and certain characters didn't. If both Wolf and Krystal got in Brawl, do you really think they'd have dropped another character? Because I sure as hell don't. It'd probably be more along the lines of moving the Random option.

The only people I know who don't like her are Star Fox "purists" no offense to anyone here. In my personal experience, the vast majority of gamers are split into two groups. 1) People who do not like Krystal 2) People who do not know who Krystal is The group of people who fit into neither of those groups are generally the same group of people who wish Rouge had a more central role in the Sonic series. In other words, they're not interested in Krystal as a character, they just want some furry boobies in the game.

Well, Sakurai already dropped Roy and Mewtwo for Ike and Lucario, so one could easily argue that Krystal wasn't included because of either Falco staying or Wolf being added.

I thought Flip deduced that Mewtwo was cut to make room for Sonic, since he was the most finished of all the characters and Sonic was added almost a year after the rest of the cast was finalized.

I don't know about Mewtwo... either way, Sakurai still removed/replaced characters. So its not like its forbidden to remove/replace characters in a Smash game, its just frowned upon. Anyway, if Star Fox fans really don't want Krystal in either as the 4th rep or to replace either Falco or Wolf, then that's fine with me because I don't think Star Fox needs four reps in my opinion.

Possible backlash might make Sakurai consider Krystal, Mewtwo, Goroh, and possibly Roy, since, at least in my experience, those were the ones everyone seemed to want.

I'd say add K. Rool, who has been a villain in Donkey Kong games for a long time. He can be a dark and funny character at the same time. He'll hopefully be a very unique fighter. He's now starting to be used in Mario side games and his addition could give us the chance to play in stages reminiscent of the battles against him, with excellent music in the background.
Samurai Goroh is one of the F-Zero veterans and a rival of Captain Falcon. Besides the use of katana-based moves, what is really important is to make his the features of the Fire Stingray. Also, perhaps, as opposed to the Falcon Punch, he could get a very fast Neutral Special Move, as a reference to the fact that maximum speed and acceleration are opposite attributes of F-Zero machines.
Things that are somewhat early to predict:
If no Mother 4 appears soon enough, then I'd consider the Masked Man from Mother 3. He looks very suitable for SSB battles, and he has weapons besides his PSI abilities.
Before Brawl was released or their data was allegedly found in the game's code, the best reasoning for the inclusion of Plusle & Minun was that they represent the double battle mode that is present in Pokémon since the third generation. However, if a better mascot Pokémon couple appears in the future, one should think about them too. Preferably one that isn't electricity-based.
Also, if he grows to be more accepted outside of Japan or if he plays more protagonist roles, Tingle wouldn't be bad for a quirky playable character. Not much imagination is necessary to picture him as playable; it's all about his personality.

If they add Claus they'd have to add from Mother 2 / Earthbound. My call there would be Paula, in all honesty.
Plusle & Minun are the most viable option for the role no matter what. Why else do you think they're electric mice? They're genration mascots. Same applied to Pichu back in the second gen. Pikachu was the fame of Kanto (and the series by extension) and represented the series core: Catching and battling Pokemon. Pichu represented the new trick of Johto: Breeding and baby Pokemon. Naturally, Pichu had to be similar to Pikachu, how else but being a baby Pikachu? Plusle & Minun? The new double battle system of Hoenn. Their abilities made it so they were stronger together, they were both electric mice, the entire thing's just perfect. Pachirisu is the odd-mouse-out, as Pachirisu is the regional electric mouse, but Pachirisu doesn't represent a new trick, doesn't represent the region, and is in general just Pachirisu. It's kinda wierd, really. Possibly because of a shift in focus to the older set (possibly also why the game features a Pokemon God and why Lucario took the role of the regional mascot.)
Tingle, unfortunately, is too kitschy for most people's tastes, and in a sick twist in fate is also the most likely. He's got moves, he's got notoriety, all he needs for SSB playability? Much to my distaste, literally nothing.

That's the kind of ignorant shit that I hate the most, when you claim that only perverted furries like a certain character. So what does that make me, hm? Or how about the other members here that want Krystal in the game? Are we all fapping furries? God I'm sorry people... Sorry to blow up like this but that really pissed me off... Won't happen again.
