Actually, that does sound like a better idea for them. At first, I thought it sounded something like Kirby's Final Smash. Moreover, Shadow was merely a Timer item that never backfires but includes a reddish effect, so meh. And Dr. Wright is kind of a.......Nintendo/Maxis paradox, if you will. I'd even like for there to be two Assist Trophies out at a time instead of just one. Anyway, I'd like to see what you can come up with...

And Dr. Wright is kind of a.......Nintendo/Maxis paradox, if you will. Not really... Nintendo EAD made SimCity for the SNES. Although the title is licensed from Maxis, the game was produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, directed by Takashi Tezuka, and has music by Koji Kondo - it's a wholly first-party game and Dr. Wright, despite being named after Will Wright, is a wholly Nintendo character. Moreso than Kirby, even.

Better yet for Toadsworth, he can serve a different NPC ally kind of role in the SSE. More or less as a cutscene device to get the story going.

I want more Nintendo-themed items!
Blue Shell - from the Mario Kart series; this winged blue Spiny shell flies above the stage and when you catch it, it will fly off the screen then dive bombs at the player with the most points which results in a blue explosion (it could backfire on you if you have the most points)
Bombchu - from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, this awesome explosive toy mouse moves all over the stage like Hothead does, only it explodes when it collides with someone like Bob-omb does
Bug Spray Gun - this is Stanley's bug spray gun from Donkey Kong 3; it controls like the Cracker Launcher but it shoots smoke clouds that blow your characters away without inflicting damage, basically Mario's FLUDD that you can shoot in different angles
Djinn - straight from Golden Sun, these magical creatures come in four colors and they move all over the stage; you collect two, three, or four Djinn of the same color to randomly summon various gods and demons like Nereid, Cybele, and Thor to attack the stage; could work like a cross between Dragoon and Assist Trophy
Golden Mushroom - straight from the Mario Kart series, this shiny crowned mushroom will make you go fast as if you're wearing the Bunny Hood, only you're much faster you're casting golden ghost images behind you
Ice Flower - from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and Super Mario Galaxy; works like Fire Flower in Brawl, only it shoots snowflakes that freeze your opponents like Ice Climbers' down B move
Mike - from the original Kirby's Dream Land, pick it up then press A to shout into it to damage nearby opponents within the circular sound wave
POW Block - the powerful earth-shaking box from the original Mario Bros. arcade would either randomly bury or knock off all ground-bound opponents
Reverse Mushroom - from the Battle Mode in the original Super Mario Bros. 3, this white mushroom with red spots will switch everyone's places and change everyone's sizes; for instance, Mario is falling off the platform while Link picks up the mushroom - suddenly, Mario is tiny and standing on the spot Link was at and Link is big and falling off screen like Mario was doing before the switch
Zapper - the original NES Zapper has only three shots but each shot are just as powerful as one fully charged shot from the Super Scope, its basically Super Scope with three fully charged shots without the charging period

I still want a TNT Barrel in Smash. But then I want that in every DK-related game...

We got something close to that: the explosive crate. But too bad that didn't work properly enough.
A lot of these item ideas are swell, though. But it sure would seem awkward to see other characters that aren't Kirby using the mic. Maybe Kirby can use that as something of an "Alternative" Final Smash.

I had the idea of the Mic being a "secret taunt" type deal where each character had a unique way of using it, sort of like how they all ride the Dragoon differently or do a pose when they grow Super/shrink. Like Kirby could use it per normal, but you may see Peach do a J-pop bit or Ganondorf laugh incredibly loud. Something different.
And I stand by Furniture Leaf. Best. Idea. Ever.
A few more...
Kuribo's Shoe -- From SMB3, players can hop in to automatically "footstool jump" every time they land on a foe from above. The catch is that your dash is significantly slower, your jumps are floatier, and you can't use any other attack. Timed effect/can be hit out of.
Harp -- From Kid Icarus, grab this to play a short chord that forces all players to drop their held items and flinch if they had one. All item containers automatically burst open as well.
Angel Feather -- From Kid Icarus, grab this and it goes into reserve like Dragoon Parts. When you fall off the bottom of the stage you are instantly flung into the air on a pair of shiny wings similar to Pit's Up B, that last for about the duration. They cancel out your jump/recovery, but give you ample time to get back. You can lose the feather if hit enough times or KO'd. Also, the feather only works from the bottom of the screen, NOT sides or top.
Fairy -- From Zelda, if you touch it you will heal 50% damage. Sometimes you find it in a bottle and it goes into reserve, like Dragoon Parts, healing you 50% automatically for any damage you receive that takes you over 100%, including damage from the next hit you get if you were already past that point.
Red Crossbow -- From Nazo no Murasamejou, fires straight-flying bolts (30 total). You can charge it to fire 3 at a time in quick succession. These cause the opponent to flinch.
Magazine -- From Metal Gear Solid, toss this on the floor to distract anybody who runs by; they will automatically stop all forward momentum if they run past it.
Blue Shield -- From Sonic, it appears in a monitor. Smash it to protect yourself with a blue shield which, like the Cloaking Device in Melee, absorbs % damage but still allows you to be knocked back/struck and KO'd for a limited time.

Besides, I've had enough of the blue shell from playing Mario Kart Wii, thank you very much!.

Sqrt, I used the word "points" to refer to different types of points. Time Mode, Stock Mode, and Coin Mode have points but they are called "points", "stocks", and "coins". It doesn't just refer to the points from Bonus Mode.

If I may, I'd like to make a list of items to get rid of:
Golden Hammer: what's the point in having a more powerful version of an item you already have... that's already powerful.
Dragoon: The most powerful item with no flaws or chance of backfire. Kirby nearly dominates with items already.
Here are some items I'd like to be changed:
Blast Boxes: replace them with TNT Barrels from the DK series.
Superspicy Curry: the flames are much shorter, and the time it last is not as long.
Smash Balls: they have their own calculator now. Unlike other items, Smash Ball has a set time to appear on stage. However it will automatically appear when someone is down to their final life, or it's the last minute in a time match.

The Golden Hammer lets you float when you tap A repeatedly, whether its squeaky or not. I think it should come back. Its a great item.
I think Dragoon is just right as is. It can be difficult to get all three parts and you can drop them when you get knocked around a lot. That's why the one-hit KO is your reward for the hard work getting all the parts. Plus there's a chance you might miss when firing the Dragoon when your opponent moved just on time or just dodged it on time. So its not flawless since it could backfire on you by not hitting its target.
Red Shells should also come back. They worked differently from Green Shells and it can backfire on you when you're on the same platform with it.

Hmmmmmm. Maybe after unlocking all hidden Assist Trophies, there can be an Assist Trophy Switch of some sort. I donno, just a thought. Would that work?

They haven't done the same with Pokeball Pokemon in all three games so I don't know if they will do that with the Assist Trophies. I doubt they would do that, though they could do it if they wanted to. In my opinion, the beauty of Assist Trophies and Pokeballs are the surprises inside. What fun are they if you always know who will show up?

Eh, point taken.
The Timer should also be able to use a speed-up effect.
