Well knowing Nintendo. They've never used RPG characters in Party, Sports or Kart games.
There have been tons of fan favorites when it came to RPG games. But Nintendo has never done anymore with them. That's just how it works sadly.

Maybe you missed it, but in the first post here, I did say I work things out way differently on these. (Really though, no offense, but do I look like I care? It's my thingy, after all) Enough about that, now anyways, how about everything else to this one? G'head.

Weren't the fancy-name-that-I-forget Stars from Paper Mario in Mario Party 5? Or at least really blatant expies of same?

Weren't the fancy-name-that-I-forget Stars from Paper Mario in Mario Party 5? Or at least really blatant expies of same? Hm? I think they were called Star Spirits. And yes, they were. Thus, the anything-can-happen motif of the Mario world.

I forgot to mention earlier, you all do know how Nintendo leaves much of their franchises like Mario, Zelda, and some others open to everyone. (Not just Nintendo either, but any game company if they see fit) The reason I ( and others, I'm sure) do this kind of thing is to interpret what's left open in our own ways and see how to work them out via imagination. THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TURNING TIDES[/u] (First tentatively named Zelda: By Land, Sea, and Air) The "toon" Zelda series, Wii Zelda Generations was doomed to becoming an immediate failure, and my favorite saga of the Zelda series was that of Wind Waker, especially having recently gotten Phantom Hourglass. It's hard to try anything like this with Zelda, but then I just came to think of it: The beauty of "fangaming" (if that's the right term) behind the Zelda series is that you can start from scratch with just about everything and take rather different approaches with them. But of course, Link, Zelda, and Ganon are a must, but all the minor characters, dungeons, items and everything else is free game. Alright, on with this one now: THE BASIC GISTThe "theme" (if you will) of this game idea is "by land, sea, and air". So Link will be using many vehicles to get around places. The steamboat and train from PH and ST are here for the Great Sea and the land of New Hyrule, respectively. But newly introduced is a special (wooden) flying machine (which is a cross between a gyrocopter and one of those way old/first ever winged flying machines) to get around the Skies of Hyrule. All three of them can be customized. Along with those, all else is played just like any other Zelda game. A lot later into the game, Link will also be cooperating with Zelda, Pikmin 2-style. Link specializes in all his weapons and gear, and Zelda is more focused on magic attacks (many of what she's done in Smash). Enemies and bosses aren't such a concern at this point, however. CHARACTERSLink, Zelda, and Ganondorf: Is an introduction really necessary? Aryll and Grandma: Link lives with them on Outset Island. Salvatore: The mini-game guy, but this time, he offers a wide variety of them for you to try your hand at. Linebeck: Yes, him again. He mans your steamboat. Baito and Zauz: Two blacksmiths on a far-off island in the Great Sea. This one's a sidequest: find the pure metals (PH) at certain points in the game, bring them to these two, and they'll forge the Sword of Tides for you, a stronger blade than the Master Sword held with two hands, like Biggoron's from OOT. Beedle: The Shop Ship man is back, too! He makes his business out on the Great Sea. Oshus: The Ocean King returns! He lives on Outset, watches over the Great Sea, and is a friend of Orca and Sturgeon. Goron tribe: They live on Death Mountain in New Hyrule. Biggoron (PH) is their leader. Zora tribe: They live on Greatfish Isle (not damaged, in the Great Sea), watched over by Jabun, and Laruto (alive) is their leader. Some Zoras are seen in Lake Hylia of New Hyrule. Korok tribe: They live in the Lost Woods in New Hyrule. Makar, Hollo, and others are notable ones. Also with them are Fado (alive) and the Deku Tree. Anouki tribe: On one of the three highest mountaintops of Hyrule only accessible by sky travel later, are these penguin/reindeer hybrids. The Yooks are back too, and also live on the other side of the mountain, and the two tribes keep on feuding. Rito tribe: They live on Dragon Roost Peak, being watched over by Valoo. Notable ones are Medli, Komali, Quill, and the Chieftain. Cobble Kingdom: Their long died-out civilization rests high on a mountaintop visible from the skies. The spirits of King Mutoh and the other kings live on, but all mere soldiers and citizens of the civilization wander around as Stalfos/Stalchildren, lashing out at anyone who dares set foot on their soil. Zephos & Cyclos: They watch over the skies of Hyrule. Cyclos tries to wreak havoc up there, as opposed to Zephos. Tingle: Appears in many places and helps out Link in many ways. This idea will be very subject to change, what with the train element being held off until more info on Spirit Tracks kicks in. So yeah, this one's definitely under construction. This post was just for the basic points of it. Other details (story, map of the place, items, enemies, bosses) to come in another. Oww, my head hurts...Told you it wasn't so easy with the Zelda series... I guess it was worth a shot anyway.

I really like the Kirby game idea. Agree with Koopaul on the "two sides" of Kirby. I actually like the versatile abilities and helpers from Super Star/Fun Pak more, but having the animal helpers as well would be great. And Dedede definately needs to be playable more often! Meta Knight is cool and all, but Dedede deserves as much of attention as him (didn't await that the King would be even completely absent from a Kirby game until Amazing Mirror...). On the Princess game, nice that you use magic and physical attacks, since a woman attacking with extreme vibes and an umbrella (nothing against Perry, though) is stereotypical as hell. SPP is really fun nonetheless, but still... Yoshi & Birdo is a funny idea, too. Birdo will most likely never appear solely as a main character, so this a good way to let her star in a game nonetheless. Would you also add some references to Birdo's gender or include something about the dinosaurs' relationship?

I figured you'd love this one. Yeah, I did mention Ribbon being playable in this game, but I forgot mention that Adeliene will also be in there as a helping NPC with her painting. Both Ribbon and Adeliene will get the Tiny Kong treatment in this game. If anything that's been absent for far too long returns in a new game, it has quite a high chance of being completely redone. We've all seen a lot of this happen in the past. Damn, I forgot all about Perry until you reminded me here. I'll try to implement it into this game in some way, but thanks for bringing it to my attention. Yeah, they do build up some kind of relationship in this game. And I'd eat my own balls before I open that can of worms in this, thanks.

(CURRENTLY UNNAMED) NINTENDO ADVENTURE[/u] Wii/Nintendo crossover
Some of us here have tried this before, but here's my take on it. It's a Nintendo crossover adventure that sees several worlds and characters together. Classic heroes? Classic allies? Classic enemies and villains? Anyone long forgotten? It's all here!
As much as I enjoy the 3D platforming scene, it's not exactly necessary for this one, so this will be a 2D platformer. The basic gameplay is only a little like Brawl's SSE, but moreso, it will be tweaked a lot to break away from many of the Smash mechanics and lean more toward something like Kirby Super Star (which was great as a 2D platformer) in order to fit the 2D platforming scene more effectively. Instead of the damage percentage system, every character uses a simple stamina system of a decent enough amount to hang in there. Have it deplete and he/she'll fall and lose a life. They even have their own attack and defense power which can be “leveled up” over time by felling a lot of enemies (not way too RPG-ish, mind).
You can think of this as some type of a much souped-up version of SSE, which it apparently is. Just with more of a universal focus and unplugging itself from Smash Bros. I still see SSE as a different game from Smash in its own right.
Anyway, here are the many characters in the game with each of their roles:
Heroes Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Link, Zelda, Samus (Zero Suit to boot), Kirby, Ribbon, Fox, Krystal, Pikachu, Pokemon Trainers (Red, Gold, May, and Dawn), Captain Falcon, Ness, Lucas, Marth, Ike, Lyn, Pit, Olimar with the Pikmin, Starfy, Mr. Game & Watch
NPC Allies (two distinctions: can be spoken to at some points in the game or will serve as invaluable allies to back you up in battle) Daisy, Rosalina, Pauline, Peasley, Toad, Toadette, Toadsworth, E. Gadd, Birdo, Dixie Kong and many of the other Kongs, DK's animal friends, Luminoth (MP2:E) most Zelda NPCs (OOT, MM, WW, PH, and TP), Adeliene, Kirby's animal friends, Falco, Peppy, Slippy, General Pepper, Pokemon Trainers (Leaf (that her name?), Kris, Brendan, Lucas), Jigglypuff, Sothe, Micaiah, Palutena, Louie, President (Pikmin), WarioWare crew, Animal Crossing villagers...
Currently burnt out on this one. XP I sorted out some sort of “resource list” for all of this, so I'll be back to edit this part later.
Hostile NPCs (not so much typical enemies, but these guys will often appear on behalf of the band of villains at certain points throughout the game to serve as mid-boss-type characters) Kip, Kass, Kalypso, Kludge, Shadow Beast(s), Ing, Space Pirate(s), Samurai Goroh, Eggplant Wizard, Reaper, Pigma, Andrew...
Stuck with this, too.
Villains Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, Bowser Jr., King K. Rool, Ganondorf, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Wolf, Leon, Panther, Rival Pokemon Trainers (Blue, Silver, Wally, and Pearl), Mewtwo, Lucario, Black Shadow, Ancient Minister
They will be seeing playability too, even during their villain roles. Some of them will be averted a lot later, however.
Enemies and bosses Common Mario & Yoshi baddies Common DK baddies Common Wario Land baddies Common Zelda baddies Common Kirby baddies Wild Pokemon (the “Hostiledex”, if you will) Subspace Army (not as big a role as they had in SSE)
I'll get more in-depth with these another time.
World Map? Let's just say that once you make an attempt to sort it out, you'll realize why they had to go with some generic island for SSE. But don't worry, we'll be seeing the most commonplace of common places...(terrible pun)...in there, just remapped into this place (I.e. Peach's Castle, Luigi's Mansion, Halberd, Great Fox, etc.). Will see to more of this in another post too.
I'm not so hot at writing out full-blown storylines, but I did conjure up a couple scenarios for this one. Most things are apparently tentative at this moment, so any of you are free to add onto or amend anything with it as well.

SUBSPACE EMISSARY PLUS (now been decided!): SCENARIOS[/u] I'll say it again, but this is but an enhanced SSE with a more universal focus and detaching itself from Smash Bros. With so many impressive characters and objects in the Nintendo catalog, there's no telling what could unfold. Any good moments from the original SSE will stay; redoing and rearranging at the same time, as you'll see: First part of all: Enter Bowser, Peach, and Mario. Bowser runs across with Peach kidnapped and Mario goes after him to save her, as always. This first level sees you as Mario going through a World 1-1 with several Mario enemies and at the end, a battle between Mario and Peach vs. Bowser ensues. Here, Bowser Jr. serves as a backup for Bowser. The most basic way to begin the whole thing. After that, Bowser and Jr. fall as trophies as Mario and Peach rejoice, but shortly after that...Enter the Ancient Minister, who drops a Subspace Bomb ready to be activated. The Minister takes both the Bowser and Jr. trophies away and makes his break while Mario and Peach try to get away from the bomb with a Subspace Army invasion getting in the way. Mario and Peach head down to Peach's Castle to inform the rest of their friends: Luigi, Daisy Toad, Toadette, and Toadsworth These aren't in any particular order (yet), but they're just a few of the scenarios I've come up with so far: Enter Kirby and Ribbon. Both are riding through the cosmos together on a Warpstar. Marx chases after them as they try to escape him. But suddenly, one shot from Marx hits the Warpstar, sending the two off course. Kirby falls down to the island below while Ribbon escapes Marx and notices a Comet Observatory nearby. Here, Ribbon meets Rosalina. And from this point on, the two befriend each other and go on their quest together to the island below. Kirby finds himself in an Animal Crossing village. He wonders around to see who's around here, but.....Enter Toon Ganondorf and his minions. They begin to terrorize the village. Here, Kirby has to save the place from these goons by going into houses and other buildings to take down any (toon) Zelda enemies. The AC villagers are hiding inside and will thank Kirby whenever he clears houses of creeps. When all buildings are cleared, Kirby has to fight Toon Ganondorf. Enter Meta Knight. Seeing as his ambition is to become stronger, he somehow stumbles upon Phazon (from Metroid Prime). He feels a bit of the substance and it starts to affect him. He fights against the hazardous power of the Phazon and takes advantage of it by infusing himself with it to become ever stronger. Now on Phazon, Meta Knight begins to experiment with his newfound power by taking down any enemies in his way to search for more Phazon to become far stronger. Enter Samus. She breaks into a Phazon Refinery to neutralize the Space Pirates and stop them from continuing their experiments. But as she ventures deeper within the place, she find a lot of Phazon supplies used and Space Pirates everywhere downed. By none other than Meta Knight. Samus encounters Meta Knight, detects astronomical amounts of Phazon in his body, and goes after him. There's more to come and the order of the events will be determined once they're all through, but these are to give you an idea of what's in store. If anyone's game, you're free to come on in and add onto it and make a group effort out of this.

In short, like Brawl, Meta Knight is still the main character. =P
If you want comments so badly, I'll give you some.
Character choices:
Basically speaking, it's too Smashy. Well, you can have it your way, I guess. And no surprises there besides Ribbon, who we all know you're a big fan of by now. Oh, no playable AC character too.
Why is Lyn ever playable? She's like... just there as a device to teach new players of this game. Of no story importance whatsoever. If you ask me, Eliwood or Hector or their children work better. Bring back Roy, if you ask me that.
And "most Zelda NPCs" sounds dangerous. Do you realise that if you really try to count the cast of an adventure game and merge them together, you'll need a really long story to have them all in?
...What? No Andross?
Story:
...Toon Ganondorf? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there're multiple Links, multiple Zeldas but just one Ganondorf. Do you just mean Ganondorf in WW style?
Oh noes! Meta Knight is EVIL!
Oh, if you want positive comments, I like your classic SMB1 opening and the Ribbon thing.
I'm not sure if I will join in for writing for your game. It's not quite like what I think for a mixed Nintendo adventure.

I would LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to see you do better. Please enlighten me. Better yet, get used to it. You'll be seeing more afterward. Meh, the same can be said of the plot that SSE already had. Barely made sense all over the place anyway, but that's not saying it was bad. It's SSE, after all. Some corrections are in order: Above all else, that selection is far from final, mind you. =P Don't think I don't have my limits on it either. No duh, that's WW Ganondorf. This will only see the TP and WW incarnations of the Triforce trio, no more. Oh noes! Meta Knight is WAY TOO DEBATABLE!

Well no offence, but somtimes your character choices andd ideas are purely based on your tastes and not ones that may interest many fans.
I'm sure there are many people who think maturing Ribbon is a creepy idea.
Especially if you remember that all the fairies on Ripple Star are these little children people, even their leader is a child. I don't think they grow older.

I've been aware of that. I know, I can be mostly biased with stuff, but even if I do go through all these resources, it's hard to pick out which ones appeal to the most people. Try going through that Mario catalog and what-not, you'll see for yourself. Another reason being, no arrogance attached, but they're basically my things and I'll set them up as I see fit. I have no interest in coming up with any "fan characters" for them, seeing as they'll end up flopping anyway. Coming up with newer characters is the only thing I'll leave up to Nintendo. It's just the concepts where I get original. And hey, (yet again) if you've thought of anything for SSE+ (only SSE+, though), holler! I'm fine with critique and I can take it, you know. Just not anything to the effect of "GTFO, ass!" and nothing more. And that's just annoying... If my creativity offends you that much, I donno. Also: If anything that's been absent for far too long returns in a new game, it has quite a high chance of being completely redone. We've all seen a lot of this happen in the past. Hello to you too. Honestly, she's basically one of those "special cases", if you will.

I like Lyn far more than Hector or Eliwood, thank you very much. I don't know, I think that if you're going to design games with other company's characters in mind, you should use the ones you like the most. May not please everybody, but that's not the point (which you can't, anyway). So I think you're doing fine, BD.
