I like the concept of doing crazy stuff while racing. As long as it makes me laugh and has much more variety than these weird weapons, it will be good enough to me. Count me in second.

What a disappointment too. But what do you expect? Nintendo (as usual) didn't advertise it at all and the name of the game and presentation are very off putting. I wonder how many of these third party developers make games with Nintendo franchises and just get the cold shoulder like this when it comes to marketing. If I was Monster Games, I'd be pretty pissed.

Well, apparently Excite Bots is a bit crap... So it's probably a good thing it's not doing so well. I get the impression that it's not so much about the racing and the crazy jumps, but loads of crazy shitty minigames you have to do at the same time as the racing and the crazy jumps.
Nintendo needs to keep a lid on that quality control box.

That's not the impression I got from actually playing it. The game was quite brilliant. Knocks the socks off the mess that's Mario Kart.

This aint good for Australia and probably Europe too. “At this stage, we won’t bring Excitebots in. I know there’s a group of people who want it, but at our minimum [stock order] it’s probably too much for us to carry. I know in the US there’s a lot of that stock around. We’ve got to make that evaluation. We’ve got to try and support our consumers where possible, but unless we can sell the minimum we need to bring in, that makes it very difficult.” - Nintendo Australia’s managing director Rose Lappin Source.

Nintendo of Australia is also making Punch Out exclusive to one retailer (JB HiFi, so its a good one at least... but still) when it finally comes out after its reasonless 4 month delay. Why? Because they're fucktards, thats why.
The arguments for both of those 'not selling well enough' seems fucking ridiculous when you consider they did bring most gamecube games out when the install base of the Cube in Australia was like, 4 people. Surely even a bad selling Wii game will do better than that.

Hmm... you'd think Nintendo was struggling or something. Rather than, you know, the richest sonofabitch in the videogame industry.
Didn't realise Punch-Out wasn't out in Aus yet! That's odd. There's not even any hilarious Australian stereotypes in there to be edited out.

Yeah, the Punch Out delay is extra weird. Its not like Excitebots where there is no PAL version to bring over (though they have brought over things from the US with no PAL version existing yet - eg Animal Crossing back in the cube days), because there's been a PAL version from pretty much the beginning. They've just decided it wont sell enough for whatever reason.
For the record, the Wii games Nintendo Australia have released here this year are... Pikmin (Feb) Mario Tennis (March) Pikmin 2 (May) Jungle Beat (June) ...and thats it. 4 gamecube games over 6 months. Our first new game will be Wii Sports Resort as the lone Nintendo title of July. Apparently the lone Nintendo title of August will be Punch Out, which will only be at one chain anyway. I'd assume at this point that'll be too much work so they'll need to take at least September off.
I mean, I know its not all that much better in other countries, but Excitebots could have slipped into that April spot, and Punch Out could have been the earlier part of June or something. Its not that hard, surely.

Wow, now that you mention it, this has been an exceptionally dire year all round for Nintendo's Wii releases.
As far as new (non-Gamecube-port) games go, Europe's only had Punch-Out and Another Code R so far, and the US has had Punch-Out and Excitebots. Even Japan's only had Another Code R and Takt of Magic...
I wonder what's going on there...
Edit: I wouldn't normally bother changing a typo, but I managed to write "had" as "has" twice! Think my brain is broken.

I dunno, but this dismal year is how I've somehow ended up with a 360. I mean, how bad is it that one of the big releases to look forward to is a compilation game? And the only reason I'm anticipating the MP Trilogy is for the loot!
