This shows you can't stick to cameos (and this includes SSB) for the definitive spelling of character names as long as their games are not localized.

Let's hope Europe will use "Stafy", seeing how some NOE games are closer to the original. Hm, I somehow doubt that NoE would use an indiviual trademark with the difference of one letter. Anyway, there has yet to be any announcement for Europe. I wonder if Nintendo of Japan will adopt the romanization "Starfy". スタフィー has always been Stafy, Starfy would be スターフィー. As for Kyorosuke... They probably have some sort of retardation like: Sheldon or Royster. What meaning does the name Kyorosuke (or Kyoron) have? When I search for "Kyoro", most what I get is Kyoro-chan. |

I must be the only one who thinks "Stafy" sounds like the name of an infection. (ie. Staph Infection.) At least, that's what I think of when I see "Stafy." That, and how it makes no sense for a character shaped like a star to be called "Stafy" instead of "Starfy." But then Nintendo usually doesn't make a lot of sense anyway.  |

"Star-fee" is probably the correct pronunciation, but I do pronounce it "Staff-ee" with the Japanese spelling. That's one of the reasons I thought Starfy made more sense. With my accent they both sound identical, anyway.  I kinda preferred Stafy, but I guess I'll get used to it... just like Lucario... |

If you were pronouncing it 'Staff-ee' houldn't it be spelt more like Staffy though? Like, I dunno, Daffy or taffy or something?

I always though Sta (as in art) fee because it's japanese and he's a stAr..
But the whites always pronounce a like in staff (no offense)
I'm quite supportive of the name Starpy, though.
