I just recently heard that Kyorosuke the clam (or oyster or scallop or whatever) will be referred to as Moe. That makes me think of Moe Howard from The Three Stooges. I guess it makes sense, cause the clam usually becomes angry as much as the Stooge does. Are you going to get mad at people for comparing KIirby to Jiggly Puff? No, but I wish they would compare Jigglypuff to Yumetaro from Sunsoft's Gimmick! for the Famicom.

You know something, Starfy does look like a star, so comparing him to anything that also looks like a star seems like fair bet, would you like people to compare him to Patrick instead?

First you draw a star, Then you dot the eyes. Add a great big smile And Presto, it's Starfy! A true Nintendo star.
I hadn't thought about his similarity to the Hungry Lumas because he came first. They're more like Starpy anyway.

Besides Jigglypuff and Yumetaro being puff ball characters with cuteness, they have one thing in common: large eyes. If you see anyone cosplaying as Link without elf-like ears, then just say they are cosplaying as Robin Hood. If they do have elf-like ears, but has a feather on their hat and aren't carrying any weapon, just say they are cosplaying as Peter Pan. Even though he used a knife, those are illegal to bring to cosplays, and so are baseball bats made of wood, metal or any hard material, which Ness, Mike Jones and Power Pro-kun used. You know something, Starfy does look like a star, so comparing him to anything that also looks like a star seems like fair bet, would you like people to compare him to Patrick instead? Patrick looks more similar to Grimace and Barbapapa, but with Hawaiian trunks.

What's the problem with comparing characters who really do have similarities? Especially if you don't know about the series, which I will assume most buyers won't know about, because he's been Japan only.
Despite that, this whole comparing characters thing is kinda fun. We should make a new topic posting pictures of Nintendo characters and then finding look-a-likes!

Starfy for DS? Interesting, seeing on how many times parrothead used to mention it when it was a Japan-only game... I might give it a go, if I've got money. Rejoice! For 2009 is the year of Nintendo! (and ironicly the worst year for the economy in a long time, ironic suckage -_-') Despite that, this whole comparing characters thing is kinda fun. We should make a new topic posting pictures of Nintendo characters and then finding look-a-likes! Now that's a fun idea! *Memories comin' back...* I remember having a thread on that on SBO (some pre-brawl fan site JN, Shrikes and parrothead should remember), but it was only pokemon and any similarities between them and some other character. It was fun with just pokemon, so a thread like that would be more fun and pseudo-cameo-ish

I heard some people say that Gimmick! is a rip-off of Kirby, but it's not, because Gimmick! was first released in Japan on January 31, 1992, while Kirby's Dream Land 1 was first released in Japan on April 27, 1992.
