I was going to do a poll, but I couldn't be arsed. Anyway, you lot fight over which character you really want to see added to the Nintendo Stars section. There's many to choose from. It must be a game HERO (not a villain or secondary character). I'd also prefer it if it was one most people won't have heard of, rather than an exceptionally popular character - but if you really want to see a popular character then suggest it anyway. All heroes from all systems will be welcome. That includes arcade and Game & Watch. Note that the character must preferably have a name - not an anonymous character. Ones from RPGs that you have to name yourself ARE allowed. Get voting!

Well, I want to say Barker Bill, but he's not actualy owned by Nintendo. So, I'll say Mike Jones from StarTropics.

I'd have to choose one of the Kong clan...perhaps Dixie Kong from Country 2 or Chunky from Country 3. Just because I like monkeys. Oh! how about Ai-Ai from Super Monkey Ball

I'd have to say Mr. Stevenson, myself.

I'd like...
*List of 25 characters appears in my head*
ummm...gimme a minute to shorten this...
Hakkun-Sutte Hakkun Dion, Jack, Max-Marvelous The Prince-Kaeru no Tame ni Kane ha Naru(Sorry, I know you said they had to have a name, but...) The hero(s) of Custom Robo Mr. Game & Watch(Does he count? I love him. I have even cosplayed as him at anime conventions 0_o ) Doshin-Doshin the Giant Prof. Hector-Gyromite Sky Skipper-Sky Skipper
...I'll stop now...
If I was only allowed one, then go with Hakkun.

Damn you, TrustTheFungus! That's pretty much my own entire shortlist (yes, even the Prince from Kaeru... even though I said they have to have names I don't know if Mr. Game & Watch counts, because he's actually an SSBM original character... and not from any of the Game & Watch games... and so technically not a "hero". Actual G&W characters that I have on the list are: - Flagman (Flagman: because pirates are cool)
- The Wolf (Egg: not really named, but funny)
- Balloon Man (Balloon Fight: a proper hero)
- Climber (Climber: also a proper hero)
- John Solver (Bombsweeper: he sweeps bombs, duh)
- Mr. Grab (Crab Grab: a sucky blob with arms)
- Ziggy the Mazeman (Squish: blue chap with red hat)
Pretty much all of the rest are called "puppet" or "rescuers" or "you". Except for all the licenses that started elsewhere, of course (Mario, DK, Link, etc.) Custom Robo is hard, because I think the hero is "you", and the robots are... well... customizable, and you can choose more than one (and they look different with every edition as well). However, TrustTheFungus... you'll be please to know every other one of those characters IS on my list. Yes, even the Marvellous trio (though quite what their story is I just don't know). I'm very fond of Prof. Hector. I already have an inked copy of him sitting around. Though I am also keen on getting Mr. Stevenson up. Ho-de-humdinger.

Cool! I'm glad you're planning on doing most of those. I assumed you wouldn't count Mr. Game & Watch, just wanted to mention him. I wasn't sure if any of the Custom Robo games had named heroes. I've sorta considered the guy in the newest one to be named "Hero." Mostly because above his house on the map it says "Hero's Home."
I'e been thinking and I've got a few questions: 1.Once you start on the better known characters, what will you call Red/Ash? 2.Would Pikachu count as a side-kick? In Pokemon Yellow he sorta was. 3.Does Captain Falcon count as a Hero? 4.And what about Samurai Goroh? A villian? 5.Is Mewtwo a villian? 6.Do you plan on making a separate thing for each Link?
Sorry, about that. No need to answer if you don't know/care/want to.

In Pokemon Yellow he sorta was. 3.Does Captain Falcon count as a Hero? 4.And what about Samurai Goroh? A villian? 5.Is Mewtwo a villian? 6.Do you plan on making a separate thing for each Link? 1. The Pokemon heroes is tricky. On my list I've got several characters I really should include even though they don't have names. They're listed in italics as hero of Pokemon RGBY and prince from Kaeru no Tame ni. I'd like to do some of them (especially the prince, as I love that game) but they'll probably be sidelined for a while. 2. Pikachu might get done early, because he IS the main "icon" from the Pokemon series, even if he's not a hero. The problem with that is that Pikachu is actually a species, not a particular Pokemon. 3. Yes, I am counting Captain Falcon and Ryu Suzac (from the anime/new GBA games) as F-Zero heroes. Mainly thanks to the original F-Zero comic and the F-Zero GX story mode, of course. 4. Other F-Zero racers are all "secondary" but there's a lot to go round. I will probably do some of them in advance of others, like the original four, and Michael Chain (because he's cool-looking). 5. No, Mewtwo won't be included. Maybe I'll do a Pokedex someday. I want to, but it's a big job. 6. Yes, but I'm going to be careful about it. So far I consider each home console to have a new Link each time... so NES Link (TLoZ & AoL), SNES Link (ALttP), N64 Link (OoT & MM) and GC Link (TWW). I'm not sure if the Oracles are supposed to be N64 Link, or a whole new Link. I guess it doesn't make a whole lot of sense if he was... but anyway. Four Links. Thankfully they're all fairly distinct looking. And we've yet to see if the new GC Link is supposed to be a grown up TWW Link, or a whole new Link, or what. We shall see I'll answer any question regarding the site. Don't worry about that. PS. The hero from Card Hero is called "Hiro". That's confusing

I know your probably tired of hearing it Fryguy, but I must say it again: Michael Anderson and/or the S.T. Falcon.
Besides that maybe Starman from Pro Wrestling and the Dog from Duck Hunt.(wait, maybe he is considered a villain)
BTW Fryguy, Thanks for putting up all the info on Takamaru and Nazo no Murasame Jou.

I know your probably tired of hearing it Fryguy, but I must say it again: Michael Anderson and/or the S.T. Falcon. Besides that maybe Starman from Pro Wrestling and the Dog from Duck Hunt.(wait, maybe he is considered a villain) I actually have a shortlist of characters I have already drawn and inked, ready to be Adobe'd and written-up: Mike Anderson (Battleclash/Metal Combat) Isaac & Garet (Golden Sun) Olimar & Louie (Pikmin/2) Sukapon (Joy Mecha Fight) Mario & Luigi (Mario series, duh) Fox McCloud (Starfox) Ness (Earthbound) Stanley (DK3) Urban Fighter (Urban Champion) Professor Hector (Gyromite/Stack-Up) Link (Zelda 1+2) Donkey Kong Jr. (duh) Diddy Kong (DKC series) Popo (Ice Climber) Hunting Dog (Duck Hunt)* Pit (Kid Icarus)** Gokuu (Yuu Yuu Ki) Flagman (Flagman G&W) Balloon Man (Balloon Fight G&W) Climber (Climber G&W) Wolf (Egg G&W) Mr. Grab (Crab Grab G&W) Sparky (Spitball Sparky G&W) Mr. Stevenson (Gumshoe) *He's the main character in the game, and I do love him so (well... love/hate I guess is the right phrase). So he will probably go up soon. ** I know I already have Pit, but this is a better image. Though I am fond of the one up already. Oh yeah, and where I've joined two characters together (eg. Mario & Luigi, Olimar & Louie)... don't worry. They ARE getting separate character pages. BTW Fryguy, Thanks for putting up all the info on Takamaru and Nazo no Murasame Jou. Not a problem. I'm glad my thirst for obscure Nintendo knowledge is useful to others as well

Well, co-projects is always going to be difficult. It would be blasphemous to leave out Golden Sun, Kirby, Kururin, Starfy, etc... but then once upon a time the same could be said of Banjo-Kazooie and Eternal Darkness.
Truth is, a massive number of Nintendo characters are co-developed, but they're all just as worthy of being called Nintendo characters as the first-party ones. From what I can tell, when a company splits from Nintendo, then the rights to characters are split as well... Rare took Banjo-Kazooie even though it was copyrighted to Nintendo. Nintendo kept all the new Starfox and DK stuff (so presumably games don't have to credit Rare for the DKC model DK any more).
It's a tricky one, but I'm not going to fret too much over it.
