Century-old Niko, anyone? Wait... wait wait... Kinda looks like Tetra as a senior citizen... ... What if she IS Tetra as a senior citizen?!

Wow... this is getting interesting. Tetra and Niko over 100 years old? Gonzo having a descendant in Alfonzo? How can two Zeldas co-exist at the same time? If the old woman is Tetra (aka Zelda) and the new Zelda is the old woman's granddaughter, does that mean the new Zelda is not the reincarnation of the previous Zelda (Tetra)? It would make sense when you remember Zelda II where it said all girls born to the Royal Family are to be named Zelda.

Sure, the hairdo looks similar to that of Tetra's, but it isn't really her. Her name is Anjean, of the Lokomo (hurhurhur) people. All the Lokomo people have "feet" like that, by the way.
RELATED to Tetra, though? We'll see...

Because never, ever, in the history of the Zelda series, has a character been given a fake name and some sort of disguise (like, say, fake wheel-feet) to hide their real identity. Never ever.
Never.

Japanese site opened: www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/bkij/index.htmlAlong with a new Iwata Asks interview. Something is said about Tetra. If the translator is right, it is stated that Tetra is not in the game. Or whatever "テトラが登場しない理由" means...

"In an interview with Britain's The Guaridan, Zelda director Eiji Aonuma has given a none-too-subtle hint that the upcoming Wii entry in the series may feature, for the first real time in a Zelda game, flight."
Zelda II's fairy spell says hi.

Something I've been wondering... Weren't Phantoms the minions of Bellum in PH? It doesn't make sense for them to be back sinse Bellum's dead... Oh well.

Yeah, alright. So I got this game some days ago, and being relentlessly addicted to it, I managed to complete it. (Will write a full review later)
Afterward, I've started embarking on sidequests and going for more train parts. (Spoilers, maybe?) I've got all 20 stamps for old man Niko and acquired all Force Gems to open all available Spirit Tracks.
Getting new train parts is even more of a bitch this time. <.> You're not just buying them in places like Beedle's hot air balloon, you have to turn in a certain amount of treasure items to Linebeck III for them. And the best way to get these is to complete mini-games at certain score ranges (the higher your scores, the rarer the treasure you'll win). Got all of the iron/metal set for my train, though I'm still pressing on.
Edit: Minutes upon minutes of ever more relentlessness on mini-games and there we go. Very interesting themes and combinations. Damn my completionism, damn my completionism...

Loving the game so far, I got to the Fire Temple, but unsure how many sidequests I will do. I'll do the stamps and the rabbits/force gems but probably not much else.
Having skipped Phantom Hourglass, this is a great way to continue the Wind Waker story for me. A nice jump ahead with the same Studio Ghibli-esque feel and a similar new Link, yet with a slightly different personality. But it's still the same goofy Toon Link style.
I think my favorite things of the game are both the dungeon puzzles and Zelda. Former is spoilers so I'll just mention they're fun and clever. Zeldas have had personalities longer than Links, but they always stayed the same except for in the Wind Waker universe. And even then, this is a great change. Zelda feels fleshed out more than ever, and it feels like an animated movie could be made with these two as partners. Easily my favorite team-up in a Zelda game yet.
If you loved Wind Waker, play this game.
