The yellow Yoshi works the same way the spotlight levels worked in the first Galaxy, from the looks of it.
Also, the Stone Mushroom looks fun!

See I knew that Mario Planet was going to be a means of transportation.

Word on the street is, it's known as "Starship Mario".
I must say, that's quite hilarious.

I'm actually really looking forward to this game. I got a little frustrated with the controls at first but after getting used to it I really enjoyed it. I hope that they come up with new and fun worlds to explore. Mario Galaxy was sort of like Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64 and I had a blast playing those.

Stone Mario looks awesome. I kind of figured a lot of the more gimmicky tricks like the ball rolling stages would come back in some form, and as a powerup that's pretty sweet. Looking forward to playing this!

Site's up. It's got some new screens and quick gameplay videos. (Am I hearing an Orchestrated Koopa's Road in the 3rd video? )

Heh, I know. Looks like Mario's got all four elements covered in this game - Rock, Ice, Fire and Cloud (Wind).

This sure is looking and sounding awesome by the update... I'm loving the Rock Mario Suit. So far there hasn't been a single upgrade that says "Meh" (like Spring Mario). All we need is a Chicken suit I just hope this game is harder than Galaxy 1. I'm not sure, but I think I once saw on Gonintendo that SMG2 was (possibly?) going to have 240 Stars. I then proceeded to say "WTF? ". As long as the game is hard, then I'm happy (that sort of why I don't consider SMG the best Wii game, it has everything except difficulty, it's more like an awesome piece of art in which you go around and do stuff, IMO)

I reckon that the item for Cloud Mario will be that little cloud with him in that picture instead of yet another mushroom (You're getting too high on those, boy ). I bet that 240 stars means 120 for a Luigi playthrough, which would make some sense this time as well. If New SMB Wii jacked up its difficulty by a significant longshot, Galaxy 2 should too. Just as long as those levels continue to be made to put power-ups to the ultimate test, then that's a plus.

Anybody getting a Royal Bus vibe from the four piece Jugeman's Cloud under Cloud Mario?

A bunch of new SMG2 info has come out today. First of all, there's a new trailer. So far, Destructoid and Joystiq have posted previews of the game. A few points of interest. First of all, there are two different types of help for players. Hint TVs are located in certain sections of a level and will show the player how to get through. If the player dies often enough, the Cosmic Witch will appear. She'll take control of the player, but in return, they'll only receive a bronze star instead of gold. Next, the Cloud power-up. Using it, Mario makes cloud platforms. He's limited to three before the power-up runs out. If there's a wind blowing, the clouds will move with the wind. Finally, a few cameos to look out for when the game actually comes out. If Yoshi is forcefully separated from Mario, he'll run away crying, just like in SMW. In another nod to SMW, a layer of drums is added to the music when riding Yoshi. Also, there's a ghost level that uses the Ghost House music from SMW.
