Crouching? The Boomerang Bros aren't much of a threat compared to the Hammer Bros, so I didn't do that a lot. Just make sure I'm jumping all the time (their weapons lack any power to traverse a 3rd dimension) and I can handle it. In action games, always moving is better than staying and panicking about whatever might hit you.
The first 3 segments are very easy, so the challenge really start from the 4th. Still, you can easily do it from the clouds in the last session. The 5th session isn't hard either, the challenge here is to face the tension built up along the way The final one was a bit difficult though, since the platforms may flip and hammers come from everywhere. One way to deal with it is to defeat the Hammer Bros first - in the 2D games, you'll risk hitting their just-left-the-hand hammers, but in SMG2 it's fine to jump on projectiles. If you can't, just rush without thinking too much, and it won't be too difficult in the end. Once you go to Rosalina, you're safe. Just don't try to go to the back of the house.
What am I doing, explaining the game after you've beaten it?
Now now, don't judge me, but I beat the game without any death. I know it's a bit crazy, lol. But with a Mario games, I do want to have... well, additional goals.

From that video at 1:18, there were times when I have no idea how, but I managed to reach the Launch Star without wasting any cloud The fifth part was incredible. Those are some quick reflexes! And yeah, I guess I wasn't so calm when trying to clear the stage.
