Some more info. - each 'Super Guide' playthrough was done by someone on the dev team - 'Super Guide' playthroughs reveal secret actions as well - one secret revealed shows that hitting a coin block 10 times will send out 5 more coins on the 10th smash - 'Super Guide' won't reveal secret paths or hidden items - even when a player takes over for a 'Super Guide' play, the screen will still indicate that the level is being played in 'Super Guide' mode - if you beat the game without making a single 'Super Guide' block pop up (die 8 times on the same level), you will get a special title screen rewardSource."The original concept was that the Mario Bros. games would be games that two people always played together, but of course, the Super Mario Bros. series turned into more of a single-player game. People would play the game and...people playing alone had a serious look on their face. They were working very hard...and it was a big challenge for them. But as soon as we had multiple people playing the game their expressions changed dramatically. Because it is multiplayer, it has some new facets, in the sense that more advanced gamers can take care of novice players that might be playing with them, and ...carry them through the levels. One of the things we tried to achieve [on DS] was a balance of difficulty that would be easier for some of the newer gamers who first joined with the DS hardware, but would still satisfy the needs of longtime fans. But we found that doing that was actually pretty difficult. ...at E3, somebody asked, is New Super Mario Bros. Wii going to be as easy as New Super Mario Bros. was on DS. I think I said that it wouldn't be as easy. ...What we've created this time is in fact pretty difficult." - Shigeru Miyamoto Two new trailers. View at your own risk. Press trailer 2. Super skills. (very impressive).

View super skills on source: www.mariobroswii.com/" if you beat the game without making a single 'Super Guide' block pop up (die 8 times on the same level), you will get a special title screen reward" Failing a level eight times? Like it will happen! But.... if I fail.... does that mean I'll have to start a new file and play all the way from the beginning? This is a Super Mario Bros. And you don't reset in a 2D Mario game.

And you don't reset in a 2D Mario game. If you're a master Mario player then: A) You probably won't have to worry about it. B) If you are worried about it, and you desperately need that title screen extra, then chances are you WILL restart the game from scratch. Besides, Super Mario Bros. 1-3 forced you to restart from the beginning every time you switched the game on, and we all survived to tell the tale! (Even if we had to leave the NES on overnight).

Or you could, you know...load up an old save file. That's loser talk! You'll play through from the beginning every time, like a TRUE gamer!! EDIT:Here's a thought... Will the Koopa Kids have voices?!

Activating Super Guide after you die is optional, so if you don't use it when it appears, (It appears as a block that you have to hit from what I'm heard) you will be fine.

Yeah. And shows perfectly how unresponsive the Bros are. Shouldn't they, say, act the moment they see Bowser Jr?

Oooh, awesome videos! Now I super hardcore want to play this game. (Man, it's a busy gaming season...) Also, a buddy of mine hooked me up with this yesterday; note how Lemmy is given voice clips, and that they're playing the Super Mario Bros. 3 boss music ;D ;D ;D

Yeah. And shows perfectly how unresponsive the Bros are. Shouldn't they, say, act the moment they see Bowser Jr? Look at recent game releases. Bowser and co. are more likely to show up for some friendly competition than they are to kidnap the princess. That just makes it even harder being the designated heroes.
