Blue Yoshi was my favorite in SMW! That game is pretty much the reason why I play as Blue Yoshi in Brawl. I can't really say the same about P-Wing. I only use it for that one speedy Airship level in World 8. I guess it doesn't look as interesting or cool as Blue Yoshi to me. My favorite power-up in SMB3 was Tanooki Suit simply because, in addition to the ability to fly, you get to turn into a statue. I wonder if NSMBWii seems hard simply because you guys were trying to pick up the Star Coins in hard-to-reach places? Or is it just hard even though you are just running from point A to point B without stopping for any Star Coins?

First time through, without concentrating on getting the Star Coins, the game was tougher than any other "main" Mario game (discounting The Lost Levels). It throws enemies at you in buckets, it asks you to navigate giant rotating structures, avoid giant enemies, pits and traps regularly and is all around a tough game to play. Bosses are stupidly super-easy, but hey! It's good to see the Koopa Kids again! And they un-cheaped the Fire Flower against them (killing all the bosses really quickly in NSMB so long as you had the Fire Flower was a bit daft). Of course, trying to find, let alone collect, the Star Coins makes it harder... as does finding secret exits. But that was also true of SMW and Yoshi's Island, for example.

Let's not forget that the multiplayer in New SMB Wii may (or may not) well come in handy in many levels. For instance, in World 2's castle with the maze thing, get three players all three corridors, one in each of them. As long as one player is in the right corridor, it still counts! Could this screw you out of the level's first Star Coin? Nah, right at the start of the level, just jump off another's head and get right to it, pronto. And at the dropping platform in World 3's ghost house, have two people look both ways with all those Boos around, which should keep them well at bay for a while. Some levels have multiplayer pretty screwy though, such as World 2-1. Blasted sand platform pits. The mid-castle of World 3 is kind of a drag when 3 or 4 players are trying to go up with the rotating platforms. Holding a Propeller Block anywhere can serve as an additional platform for others, at that (albeit a tricky one). Just a few examples of that. Both single player and multiplayer in New SMB Wii seem like two completely different games.
