It was a build in for most mid 90s PCs, it seems. I know it came with my 94 Hewlett Packard (Which came with Windows 95!).
So there is a whole generation out there scarred...

LOL I remember that skiing game. I used to play it on the computer in my high school homeroom. I didn't understand the purpose of the game. I thought that all you had to do was keep skiing without stopping and all of a sudden that snow monster chased me down the mountain until I crashed into something and then he ate me! I guess when the snow monster eats you, you technically wins the game... just like that Friday the 13th game on the NES.

Holy hobo! I played this game ages ago, one day at the acquaintance, and didn't get why that snow monster always ate my poor skier! But I couldn't remember its title at all. Thanks for this blast from the past! On another non-Nintendo PC game, I was scared by the Vorticons in the first Commander Keen as a child. In one level, I always lured the Vorticon to the right so that he would fall off the cliff and I had to see him as little as possible. Nintendo again, mutated Marx from Kirby's Fun Pak/Kirby Super Star creeped me out the first time I had to fight him. His cackle and the creepy beginning of the music contributed to the situation. I lost and needed some time before I could meet Marx again.

Man those Verticons. Almost twice your size and able to jump. Yeah, I didn't really like the episodes that were loadded with those things. Also another one I remembered (I swear I'm not making these up): those fucking Medusa Heads from Lolo & Lala. I almost had a heartattack the first time they did that instant kill thing. They're also the reason I couldn't really get into the game.

Besides some kind of creepy educational/kids games from when I was a youngster, I didn't like:
- The snowman's pedestal in Super Mario 64 - And when Mario dies in SMW. Is his mouth open, or what?

Man you just reminded me: when I was little, the Snowmen and Spindrifts in Cool Cool Mountain scared the living shit outta me. I even had a nightmare about them once. Come to think of it, what the hell were the Spindrifts supposed to BE anyway?

You're all going to laugh, but back when I was a kid I started playing Donkey Kong Country. So I make it to Temple Tempest and get the crap beaten out of me multiple times. I decide "Eh, I'm going to go grab some lives." So I head down to Funky's Flights and get to the map screen. Wondering where I should go to get some lives, I'm flying around going "I'm sick of Jungle Hijinx. I think I'll try somewhere in the mines." I'm looking around and realize there aren't alot of levels I can try, and I'm like "Okay, maybe I should HOLY CRAP EVIL MUSIC!" (This being like 40 seconds in.) Normally, I'd have been able to simply forget it, but here's what happened. I go to bed one night (may even have been that night, I don't remember,) and I have a dream in which I had left the game on for like a day while in the Barrel Plane. I had come back to it and entered Jungle Hijinx and turned around for the life in the treehouse. When I came out, I was on Winky, this wierd song was playing, and it was raining. All the enemies and Winky were all zombies (as in dead, decomposing, and still moving.) Scared the crap out of me. Never had to worry about me forgetting about a paused game, though. I eventually got over it, but after that damned dream I've never let Funky's song get much past "HI-YAH."
