That sounds like great technology. Due to the screen being built in this 3D technology really has a great shot at becoming amazingly successful, PS3 is toting its 3D gaming but it involves having to upgrade to massively expensive 3D enabled TV sets (i.e. its never going to be successful).
So the 3DS hardware is good.
I'm just hoping that Nintendo don't just do what they always do, fall back on their franchises. I am honestly sick of Mario, Link, Samus and Fox. Maybe this will attract some decent 3rd party developers and really make the new DS a must have console rather than a novelty trend consumable.
Bungie is now unshackled from Microsoft. A Bungie game on the 3DS is a distinct possibility.

I can understand the rest, but SICK of Fox? We haven't gotten a decent Star Fox game in years, man.

Isn't that all the more reason to be sick of him, though? Since every time we've seen him in recent years, he's been shit?
(I'm pretty sure he's not referring to those four characters specifically, just using them all as examples of reoccurring-to-the-point-of-sickness series)

Hey, at least they aren't as bad as Mega Man.

Personally, I'd like a new franchise game. *Ducks random cupcake thrown at him.* Who throws a cupcake? Honestly.
Anyways, there's actually something surprising here: Off the top of my head, I can only name two game-a-year franchises Nintendo has made, Mario and Pokemon. Zelda doesn't have a spin-off franchise like those two (Mario's got Kart, Party, the sports games, RPGs, it goes on, Pokemon has Mystery Dungeon off the top of my head,) Metroid's spin-offs tend to go under the radar (Prime Pinball, anyone?) if they come along at all. Starfox, as mentioned, has 5 games total (though 3 of 'em went all pear-shaped,) so what you end up with is Zelda, Metroid, and Starfox ALWAYS adding to the canon. So a franchise game would be pretty interesting on the grounds that they don't have as many as it seems.

Just to add - Zelda does have the Tingle series spin-off...and Four Swords, too. I'll have more concrete thoughts on the 3DS later.

Not sure about starting a new thread for this, so I'll just reply here for now. www.nintendoeverything.com/51269/Now, since this is ?th hand information here, I'm not saying it's accurate or anything. But this rumor here is saying that 3DS might be out on 11/11 in Japan this year, with launch titles being MK3DS, OoT 3D and a new Professor Layton game. The Nintendo Conference this year will start in 3 days. We'll see then.

I really doubt we will get Mario Kart as a launch title. I might have to be there day 1 if we do, though.

I recall Sakurai saying that he wanted Kid Icarus Uprising to be a launch title. At least if that'll be possible.

I don't want the 3DS to be released this year, the more time there is to wait, more time for the games and tech to be worked on.
