It's 19th April here. So...
- Happy 23rd anniversary, Fire Emblem series! - Happy 8th anniversary, Japanese Fire Emblem Path of Radiance! - Happy 1st anniversary, Japanese Fire Emblem Awakening! - Happy 0th anniversary, European Fire Emblem Awakening! - Happy 0th anniversary, Australian Fire Emblem Awakening! - Happy birthday, Lucina!
...Okay, the parts about the FE series, Japanese FE9, Australian FE13 and Lucina actually apply to 20th April instead, but it's just one day apart, so yeah.
I'm such an FE freak. I myself am far from being the biggest fan I know of, though.

Happy first anniversary to the Wii U! I finally picked one up a few days ago on launch day. That is, it was the PS4 launch day. Does that still count? Also, happy 12th anniversary to the North American launch of the GameCube, which I also waited nearly a year for before buying. (I coasted on Dreamcast fumes.)

You got a console on a rival console's launch day? That's devious Speaking of launches, the N64 and GameCube were the only systems I got at launch, and they don't really count since I didn't buy those myself. The only time I matched a system purchase with a launch was getting my second 3DS on FE13's Japanese launch.

The Game Boy also turned 25 this year. I still have my brother's Game Boy that he got for his birthday the year it was released.

Thanks for re-activating this thread guys. Let me kick in by saying that the 24th anniversary of FE1 (20 Apr 1990), the 9th of FE9 (20 Apr 2005) and the 2nd of FE3 (19 Apr 2012) have all just passed. Also, happy birthday, Lucina.

I remember first hearing about the Game Boy on a TV show called Total Panic. They showed both the Game Boy and Atari Lynx, and the thing that impressed me most was that they used cartridges, so you could change the games they played. Before this time, I was only used to those simple LCD Game & Watch style games, mostly the ones made by Tiger.
Actually, here's the exact clip. Get ready to go back in time!
I don't think I got my own Game Boy until about 1991 or '92.

30th anniversary of Duck Hunt! You guys can feel old now. Not me! My first console was a Genesis. I'll feel old when THAT turns 30.

....Actually, now that I think of it, Nintendo itself is turning 125 this year. Not that it really means anything when they didn't even celebrate their own 100th.

Happy 20th, EarthBound. You've brought a lot of people a lot of joy over the years, including myself.
