Don't know where else to post this, but here goes.
I might be off the mark by a few days, but holy shit, it's been ten whole years since I was here.

Happy anniversary! My tenth is coming up in June.
When I joined, the GameCube was Nintendo's current console, the DS was their new handheld, Resident Evil 4 was the big game, and speculation about the "Revolution" ran wild.

Today is the 25th anniversary of the Fire Emblem series. Related: there will be guest talks in the 25th anniversary concert. Kozaki Yusuke (expected) and Masahiro Sakurai (him again?) will talk about the series, with more guests to be announced later. There will also be mini-drama shows.

I'd bet big money that Lynn will be at that concert and perform Aqua's song live. Really wish I could be there, but alas.

The original Super Mario Bros was released 30 years ago today in Japan, September 13, 1985.
I first played it on the NES in 1987 at a neighbor's apartment. I instantly fell in love with it. It's hard to overstate how incredible it was at the time. It was the game to play.

Apparently, today, October 18, is the 30th anniversary of the NES's launch in North America (and South Korea?).
I didn't play the NES until 1987, and I didn't have my own until 1988.

Panel de Pon was released on 25 October, 1995, marking the beginning of the Puzzle League series.
Here's the kind of crazy stunt you can do in the DS version, where you can keep scrolling the playfield while the chain animation goes on:
I don't have that game. I only have the GameCube version. Now that reminds me, playing 4-player in the N64's resolution* is painful.
* In Nintendo Puzzle Collection, Dr. Mario and Panel de Pon are actually ported versions of Dr. Mario 64 and Pokémon Puzzle League, both overseas-only titles. Only Yoshi's Cookie was specifically made for GameCube.
EDIT - Here's a crazier, tool-assisted run:

It's the first anniversary of amiibo!
Is your wallet still intact?
(And also the first anniversary of Super Smash Bros for Wii U, the first amiibo compatible title and also Pokemon: Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and also a bunch of Nintendo hardware launched in November as well).
