As far as I can tell this game is basically Sonic Unleashed's day stages except slighty slower, with power-ups, with less emphasis on boosting, no jump dash, a double-jump, and a Sonic CD-esque visual style. I'm totally diggin' it.

Reminds me more of Sonic Advance 2's visual style. Especially with that crazy food stage.

The first level gives off a heavy Sonic CD/Knuckles Chaotix vibe what with the amusement park and the triangle dirt pattern.

Ooh, I hadn't noticed the triangle dirt pattern. Awesome. ;D

The game itself looks fantastic...and I can't believe I'm actually saying that! Sonic games haven't impressed me in the longest time. But I do have a couple superficial gripes...
That themesong...did they hire Blink 182 to do it? Just, disgusting.
Also, Eggpawns. Boooooo. Boring as shit, give us some Badniks!

Actually TEi, if you look close enough in some of the screenshots, you'll see that there ARE Badniks! Also, it seems they've tried to make the Eggpawns less boring by giving them cute little costumes.

Here's a cutscene with the new voice actor/actress. It is now that I realize that late Griffith wasn't all that bad, really...

The writing, the acting...just terrible.

It was OK. But one of these days, Jaleel White will make his triumphant return. You'll see.

Yeah, that was... not so great. It wasn't terrible, but it was running for far too long with jokes that weren't actually funny.
And why does Sonic sound like Knuckles now?

Pretty good, but mostly because I was expecting Tails to sound like a drooling moron.

Wow, realistic humor and dialog? I never expected that in a Sonic game! I'm being 100% sincere - I loved that little bit of interaction. Sonic's new voice is going to be hard to get used to, and the fact that he broke the fourth wall took me by surprise, but I couldn't be happier with Tails. He sounds, you know, like an eleven-year-old boy, not a substandard voice actor (Sonic Adventure 1-2) or a nasal-voiced girl (Sonic Heroes on up). There's just something really awesome about how the scene plays out.
