Tei pretty much said what I thought (I was making a post for this topic once, but got lazy and didn't post it).
From what I remember, Sonic Colors was going to be a game that was to target a "younger audience", right? If so, then I found that cutscene to really work well, it really felt like that childish humor that I still enjoy. The only thing that looked strange was Sonic in the beginning, when he walks backwards. It looked really unnatural to me.

Wow, realistic humor and dialog? Realistic humour and dialogue? Turning and talking to the audience? I don't like it. It's obviously trying exceptionally hard to be hilarious, but that in itself is what stops it from being funny to me. It feels like it should have a laugh track, or a guy standing there pointing and saying "THAT'S FUNNY, IT'S JOKE!! LAUGH!!!!" But it's written by the Happy Tree Friends guys... I never found any of those remotely funny, either. EDIT: He was moonwalking, Shadrio.

Wow, realistic humor and dialog? Realistic humour and dialogue? Turning and talking to the audience? I had mentioned Sonic breaking the fourth wall caught me off guard, yes. But man, how's this for a trip! For once I'm being positive and you're being negative over a Sonic game. IT'S NOT WEDNESDAY! IT IS NOT OPPOSITES DAY!! STOP CONFUSING MEEE!!! ;D

How the tables have turned! I'm postitive about everything except the writing. That just makes me cringe. I've heard that fourth wall breaks happen frequently throughout the game, and I'm not fond of them. One of Eggman's henchmen has his voice stuck on cowboy mode (COMEDY AT IT'S FINEST!!!!!) but later gets it changed to pirate mode (PURE GOLD!!!!!!!!), and I'm fairly certain, judging by how much they beat on that dead horse in that one cutscene, that we're going to have to listen to a mistranslated version of EVERY SINGLE LINE YACKER SAYS. The single line I've heard from Sonic Free Riders, on the other hand, did make me laugh: "Wow, tripped over a monosyllabic word, Storm! Good for you!"

On that note, for those who care, here're some voice clips of the rest of the new actors from Free Riders. (Mild Spoilers) "All this pent up energy is making me itch." "Now I feel kinda self-conscious for getting all excited before."

Wow. Vector, Amy and Shadow are really hard to listen to. XD
Everybody else sounds alright, though.

DOUBLE POST.
My copy came today, so I'll post my thoughts on it later. The animation is amazing.
EDIT: It's very short. I finished it last night after a few hours, which is the fastest I've ever finished a 3D Sonic game. Makes sense, though, since it doesn't contain any slowdown gimmicks like the others have.
The script actually isn't that bad. Turns out the constant fourth-wall breaking part wasn't true, it only happens that once. I correctly predicted everything else, but they weren't as annoying as I expected them to be.
The gameplay is fantastic. It's obviously taken a lot of cues from Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros., but given them a Sonic twist. Easily my favourite of the 3D Sonic games so far.
The music is also great, and Tails and Orbot's voices are a massive improvement over Unleashed. The sudden deepness of Sonic's voice wasn't so noticeable while I was playing through, either. It sounded good.

All of Eggman's PA announcements. By far the best part of the game's script. EDIT: The fourth Sonic Simulator stage seems to be a recreation Spring Yard Zone from Sonic 1. I couldn't tell you which act, and I don't know exactly how faithful it is, but I recognised a lot of areas. There are quite a few old Badniks around throughout the game, too. First one I noticed was Spiny from Chemical Plant Zone, but later on I spotted a lot of Moto Bugs and Caterkillers. EDIT 2: And the fifth one was laid out just like Labyrinth Zone. I'm going to have to go re-check the first three now. Wouldn't be surprised if they were actually Sonic 1 stages too.

Ffffffffff those PA announcements are things of wonder.
Anyway, good to hear the fourth wall-breaky only happens that once, and that the game actually seems enjoyable. Right now I have a few games on my slate, so Colors will have to wait a little bit...but for the first time in years, I'm going to actually buy a Sonic game.

The game is actually a lot longer than I thought. The story was over and done with quickly, but there's a hell of a lot to do afterwards. I thought there were only seven stages in the Sonic Simulator, but it seems the more Red Rings you collect (there are five in each main stage) the more stages you open up in there.
I also came across Simulator stages with the same stage designs as Star Light Zone and Scrap Brain Zone. Fun stuff. Haven't had a chance to try them multiplayer yet.

Yeah, those PSAs are great.
Didn't even realise the game's out already. Sadly I'm all outta greens at the moment, but once money rolls in I'm getting this one for sure. I'd totally get the limited edition too if the US version also had those goofy alien figurines and steroids-Sonic.

I'm not sure if it's supposed to be out yet. I know for sure that it comes out tomorrow where I am, but I'm not sure about the US.
EDIT: Apparently it's out today in Australia, tomorrow here in Europe, and on the 16th in the US.

uhworgteihrfd GUYS GUYS GUYS Robonik references Crazy Taxi at the 10:09 mark in those commentaries. "Would the owner of a yellow car, license plate number 1NOM155, please report to the main gate. Your vehicle is in the path of an asteroid, and it's about to get sma...oh, um - nevermind." 1NOM155, or "I no miss," is Axel's plate number from Crazy Taxi 1. <3 <3 <3
