The final round of the nationwide GameStop tournaments are being held in NYC tomorrow, and the game is also being sold early during the event. kidicarus.nintendo.com/uprising/tournament/I'll be attending since I live in NYC. I'll try to record some footage using the shoddy 3DS camera and I'm gonna get the game early (unfortunately, the free play sessions are during my school hours.) If anyone wants me to be on the look out for something, just tell me here.

Just got back from the tournament event. Because GameStop is run by idiots, I wasn't able to pick up the game (a day) early and am still uploading what I got on (3DS) camera.
There's a practice stage before each match starts like in brawl that tells you how much damage your attacks do. The guy who's screen I was watching used Beam Claws (<3) and was shooting lasers at a dummy, dealing like 5 hits a second, each one 29.5 damage. He then rushed up to them and slashed, and each attack did 15 damage.
Just to put it in perspective. It seems that, unless your particular claws have paralysis properties or something like in the multiplayer trailer, Claws aren't really a melee weapon and are more for speed. Shooting should be your primary objective, and the only reason to do a melee claw combo on an opponent would be to open him up for a teammate (useless in free for all) or to knock him off the stage. Or at the very least for guaranteed damage without fear of being hit yourself like what would happen in a normal fire fight.

Ah, 'tis out today! I shall have to pick up a copy. Hopefully the controls are better than when I played the demo!
Who would have thought - we finally have a new Kid Icarus game! What on Earth are IGN going to fake a screenshot of for E3 this year?!

I'll be grabbin' me copy soon, Super Mario 3D Land and MGS3D are still fresh in me hands (I have yet to beat either of them, trying to let them last). Anyway, I've always wondered if all these new mechanics and weaponry will affect SSB4 Pit's moveset. Pit's known for his Bow & Arrows, so that'll probably be his main weapon, but maybe some changes like Claws for his A combo, Clubs for his Smashes, Palm/Hands for Grabs and Blades for the Side Special. Just an Idea. What on Earth are IGN going to fake a screenshot of for E3 this year?! Easy: Star Fox WiiU or F-Zero WiiU. Or... Ice Climbers WiiU.

Alright, the two-year wait is over. The game's finally in my possession. On Chapter 8 so far, and man, what a long way to go, in terms of getting everything in the game. ...Okay, I need to jack up the intensity in previous levels. That seems to be the ticket to more stuff, so yeah. I'll try that. Hahaha. That's all. This series' absence on the Wii still shocks the hell out of me. They should get this going, and SF64 3D helped out, I'm sure.

This game is amazing. The amount of content in this game is staggering, I beat all the chapters, but I'm still only 60% complete. If you're having any trouble deciding on whether to get this or not, I say go for it, Sakurai has definitely delivered once again.

Part 2 of Shaft's KI anime episode is out, there is a little bit of Palutena fanservice. I'm getting my Uprising copy soon, a friend of mine will let me borrow his 3DS so I can play it.

I loved the constant dialogue between the characters about the situations at hand. I really wish more games did that, it's one of the reasons I love Star Fox so much. It makes me feel like I'm playing through a story and not a game where I try to reach the next cutscene. All the story is in the gameplay.

Which makes me wonder... Why wasn't this a Star Fox game? It's actually pretty close to being one don't you think?

Which makes me wonder... Why wasn't this a Star Fox game? It's actually pretty close to being one don't you think? Found an old article explaing why . . .It all began, Sakurai revealed, with Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealing the 3DS hardware to him. At the time, 3D technology hadn’t been decided upon as one of the defining features of the device, so all Sakurai had to go on was the increase in hardware over the Nintendo DS.
“Anything is okay, you do whatever you want,” Iwata had told his former colleague from their HAL Laboratory days, even giving him the authority to use a Nintendo franchise. At the time, Sakurai envisioned a game with a combination of air and ground combat, followed by a boss battle, and decided upon Kid Icarus, following his modernization of Pit in Smash Bros.
However, while Kid Icarus eventually turned out to be a perfect fit once the 3D technology entered the picture, another franchise was originally under consideration, but didn’t make the cut for design reasons.
“Yes, there actually was one other and that was Star Fox,” Sakurai revealed.
“But the problem with Star Fox was that — and you’ll see this when you see the trailer for Kid Icarus — is that the game design incorporates a lot of different views. For example, flying and shooting sideways or turning around and shooting behind and I felt that there were some restrictions with Star Fox in this regard. With Pit, there is a certain amount of flexibility that is allowed and makes a better fit for this gameplay.”
