I absolutely love 3D Classics: Kid Icarus... I am already in the first level of Skyworld (3-1) now. I wish I could enjoy Kid Icarus: Uprising more if it wasn't for the fact I am left-handed. It's so hard to play this game, especially on higher intensity levels... I kept dying on chapter 4 because of all these crazy Reapers.

If you've got any stronger weapons so far, try using them to take them down faster.

I'm right handed, and it's still virtually unplayable at times ;D The ground controls are still a mess. Every time I think I've gotten used to them, something happens to remind me that I really haven't. Getting stuck in a corner or thrown by enemies tends to do it.

Don't have the game, but have any of you tried playing with the DS's thumb pad on the touch screen?
Also I'm recently heard confirmation that Sakurai actually wrote the Japanese script for this game (and was of course (english) translated jokes and all by NOA)

Wonder how much they censored. I know they got rid of that Palutena wanting to see Pit naked thing. Replaced it with some laundry joke... because that's funny. But what else? Was there a tentacle joke during the space kraken fight? I know Sakurai is not above that.

I find the controls extremely easy on my end. There certainly is a learning curve, but after a few stages they're second nature to me.

But what else? Was there a tentacle joke during the space kraken fight? I know Sakurai is not above that. A tentacle joke was alluded to, but I expect it wasn't quite the same as whatever it was in Japan. There was a particularly clever bit when you finally reach the Underworld (highlight text): Palutena reminds Pit that the Underworld was where he died the most in the first game - suggesting that the first game was played backwards from the final level. ...which was cool. I must admit, Thanatos isn't quite as annoying as I thought he would be after watching the 3D video (where he's very annoying indeed!) It's a strong script for sure. Good thing too, as there's so much of it!

Oh boy... I have a feeling there might be a shit ton of Uprising items, stages, and more in the next Smash Bros.
Sakurai has Kid Icarus fresh in his mind so expect to be overwhelmed.

A little "asking for spoilers" request: Does anyone know where I can find the Japanese script? I want to see if those references and fourth-wall breaking are in the JP version to decide which version to get. Searching online yields only the conversation of the first chapter.

Well, I have been playing Uprising for the past week... and the dexterity in my right hand is starting to improve a bit. I got far into the game and am now on chapter 17... I played around with the weapons and see which ones I like best. My favorite weapons so far are Paw Pad Orbitars, Compact Arm, and Gaol Blade. Needs to experiment more though.
Really wish we get more Kid Icarus content in Smash. Palutena and Medusa as playable characters. Centurion and Eggplant Wizard as Assist Trophies. Maybe Thanatos as a boss in Adventure Mode. Drink of the Gods as a healing item that recovers ALL percentage, not just 50% (Maxim Tomato) or 100% (Heart Container).

If anything, Pit's SSB icon should be changed to that Palutena halo thing next time.

Glad I wasn't alone in thinking that. It does seem to make sense to change Kid Icarus's Smash icon from the bow and arrow to the halo. It's even on the logo!

Just wanted to let you know that Nintendo has sent out a notification announcing the return of the KI animes this coming Sunday.
They should really offer them on the eShop where they belong or at least allow us to favorite them so we can keep them on our system.
EDIT: Here is a video.

If anyone is hoping Sakurai will make a sequel to Uprising don't hold your breath. “If by ‘lasting universe’ you mean to ask if there's a sequel, the answer is no because we pushed a lot into the game in order to let people have this short yet deep experience, but the novelty of that would likely grow thin in the next game. For now, my thought is that perhaps we'll see someone else besides me make another Kid Icarus in another 25 years.”www.ign.com/articles/2012/05/09/no-sequel-for-kid-icarus-uprisingI heard he has mentioned serveral times before how he doesn't like making sequels so I guess this article isn't surprising. I would actually be interested to see someone else handle the series for better or worse.
