You note Leguizamo's stachelessness and not the enormous Goombas with tiny heads, Bowser-man Hopper's hair, the bullshit plot, or Yoshi's being too small to ride. Honestly, that was the most bad-ass Yoshi I've seen, and he's NOT the size of a horse? Man, fuck that noise. Mario RIDES his dinosaur. Haha, don't get me wrong, all that stuff is bullshit too, but I've come to accept all of that as a really bad Hollywood interpretation of the source material. Really bad! But that clean-shaven upper lip on a Mario Bro... Damn... Come on, Hollywood usually knows bad-ass when it's presented to them. You make a dinosaur that awesome, and it's based on the team horse, and no one ends up on its back at any point, you clearly fucked something up BAD. I'd suffer a clean-shaven Mario before that opportunity. And imagine the resume! "My name is Bob Hoskins, and I rode a dinosaur." ...Suddenly, I want a degree in avian husbandry.

Now that I think about it, Bob Hoskins would have played an excellent Talon in a Zelda film.

Sorry to bring this up again.... but when I opened my 3DS, I looked at the title screen of NES Open Tournament Golf and I noticed that Peach is wearing a green dress and Daisy is wearing a blue dress. This could be the inspiration for the blue-dressed Peach character in Mario Is Missing! That's probably why I believed that Daisy is the blue-dressed Peach in that game.

Don't worry, all Smash Bros. related suggestions have been noted. Just not formatted for the site

I don't think it's very likely the people who made Mario Is Missing even knew about that. They just took Peach's SMW sprite and stuck it in a generic uniform. I really doubt there's anything more to it.

So, it turns out that the Statue form of the Tanooki suit is an upgrade to the Tanooki suit, gotten when you get a scarf. That's pretty cool.
The Frog Suit still better be in it.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) have tried challenging Super Mario 3D Land by launching a flash game called "Super Tanooki Skin 2D" where you play as a skinned Raccoon Dog trying to reclaim his fur from Mario while blood drips from the screen. "When on a mission to rescue the princess, Mario has been known to use any means necessary to defeat his enemy–even wearing the skin of a raccoon dog to give him special powers," "Tanooki may just be a 'suit' in Mario games, but in real life, tanuki are raccoon dogs who are skinned alive for their fur. By wearing Tanooki, Mario is sending the message that it's OK to wear fur." It's not the first time PETA protested against video games this way, for example they once released a flash game critiquing Cooking Mama called "Mama Kills Animals". They also made a flash game against Super Meat Boy called "Super Tofu Boy". This month, PETA have also tried blaming Battlefield 3 for its rat-stabbing.

Do they even WANT people to take them seriously anymore?

Eh, you have to question the skewed ethical stance of any organisation that believes a cartoon character in a fuzzy raccoon costume is somehow glorifying the fur trade.
What next, is the American Beekeeping Federation going to have a go at Bee Mario? Or the American Ghost Society on how Boo Mario is disrespectful to the (un)dead?
I'm anti-animal-torture, I don't think skinning animals to sell their fuzz as fashion is in any way ethical or right, but to suggest that Mario's silly raccoon tail is somehow perpetuating a society that accepts the fur trade as acceptable borders on parody, and threatens to entirely undermine the issues they stand for.
I say threaten... PETA undermined themselves a long time ago.

Nintendo even bothered to make the Super Leaf the item that transforms Mario into Tanooki Mario, a role held by the Tanooki Suit (a visual costume) in the past. Maybe they foresaw this kind of stupidity (to no avail, apparently). Anyway, I'm currently at the beginning of world 4. It has been fun so far, with some difficult Star Medals here and there. Also managed to find an unlimited 1-Up spot somewhere in world 2. I'd like to see more of those confusing platform arrangements that are only understandable in 3D... However, that's only fun when you compare the difference between 2D and 3D and not so much when the 3D is permanently enabled. You'd normally have it enabled the whole time, though A hilarious reaction I've noticed at times is how I end up shaking my 3DS as if it were the Wiimote when I'm about to fall into a pit (Galaxy series / NSMBW).

I don't have the game yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll shake my system at times, like I do with New SMB DS after coming back from the Wii games.
Those 3D sections would look interesting if they start off as 2D anyway, then slowly transit to 3D. Well, if the system won't do that, I can do that myself. The initial moment upon entering these 3D rooms will still be spoiled though.

Haha, I shook my system! I thought it was funny you guys did it, but I did it in a moment of high tension too!
