I use the dual-hand mode to use the stylus instead of the thumb strap (which I think is only used by Mario 64 DS). I switch to use my left hand to hold the stylus, and ta-da! Problem solved! Alternatively, use my right hand to move and left hand to jump and kick... with the D-pad. I'd say Mario 64 DS was out one generation too early. DS lacked a lot of things 3DS has: a screen that matches the resolution of N64 (320*240), graphics that can compare to N64 (DS has a higher polygon count, but lacks the filter that makes textures less pixelated), and, most importantly, a physical analog input. Substituting that with a touch screen would not be a good idea, since there is no force feedback that tells you if you have steered to themaximum. And, speaking of the slide pad, I'd actually rather see Mario 3D Land ake use of the D-pad as an alternative (unlike Mario 64). In most cases I'll want to walk perfectly horizontally, and given there is no way to tell if you're steering to natural left or right outside of looking at Mario, sometimes it's easy to fall, especially when in the heat of action (sterepscopic 3D helps too little to make a difference). Mario will walk in a natural direction if the slide pad angle is close enough, but the triggering range of "snap to natural direction" is not large enough. And the "press Y to dash" thing is still there too.

SOOOOO... had been wondering should I get this or not.
I've more been leaning on "No", since what I've seen is that this game would be:
- Too easy
- Everything from 3D-Mario's and 2D-Marios have been recycled on this game = Nothing new?
- NO POINTS?!!
- Level design is bit too bland for my tastes at times.
What about you guys_

You said it yourself... seeing it is not the same as actually experiencing it. It may look easy and bland but a lot of levels can be really hard, especially if you're trying to get all the big coins. I actually like that there is no point system in this game. IMO, the point system never affected the gameplay in the first place. I'm pretty much satisfied with the game... only complaints are that you can't fly with Tanooki Mario, no Kuribo's Shoe, can't ride on Yoshi, and can't play as Toad (they turn into Tanooki Toads, why not go the extra mile?). On the plus side, no Bowser Jr. and Waluigi. I also noticed that a lot of levels have Hammer Bros and Boomerang Bros... I'm surprised we didn't get the Hammer Suit... oh well, the Boomerang Suit is pretty cool.

Too easy This is the game's biggest flaw. You will sail through the first 8 Worlds and then when you get to the next 8 Worlds you will find one or two of them annoying, rather than all of them.
Everything from 3D-Mario's and 2D-Marios have been recycled on this game = Nothing new? This complaint is brought up with every new Mario game. Then, when the next one comes out, everybody points out how the new one borrows from all the previous Mario games... including the one that apparently only borrowed from all the previous Mario games... That doesn't make sense! Essentially, it recycles lots of stuff, but it has new stuff as well.
NO POINTS?!! I don't honestly care about this. None of the 3D games have had points, and you still get 1UPs for doing stuff.
Level design is bit too bland for my tastes at times. Some levels are really cool, some are bland. The best ones are the castles, by far!

I think there are way too many castles in this game. It makes some other terrains look less prominent in the special worlds.
Also, why are some stages (W1-2 and W1-castle come to mind) reused more than once? I felt a bit betrayed by the "80 levels" thing....

On the plus side, no Bowser Jr. and Waluigi. How is that a "plus"?

Too easyThis is the game's biggest flaw. You will sail through the first 8 Worlds and then when you get to the next 8 Worlds you will find one or two of them annoying, rather than all of them. Gaaauu, I guess I'll try to play this through with self-imposed challenges or even with in little bites at time. (-l^l-);Everything from 3D-Mario's and 2D-Marios have been recycled on this game = Nothing new? This complaint is brought up with every new Mario game. Then, when the next one comes out, everybody points out how the new one borrows from all the previous Mario games... including the one that apparently only borrowed from all the previous Mario games... That doesn't make sense! Essentially, it recycles lots of stuff, but it has new stuff as well. Maybe you're right with that.. I felt NSMBWii being bit too rehashing on games like SMW or SMB3 but made some things from those games inferior in means of control and such. It was a great game though. NO POINTS?!!I don't honestly care about this. None of the 3D games have had points, and you still get 1UPs for doing stuff. Aww man, I love collecting points! It just lets me get braggy and feel like doing huge accomplishment. Huge amounts of 1ups though makes them just feel no 1ups ya direly need in order to complete a difficult level (because if the game's too easy and 1ups can be got easily...) Level design is bit too bland for my tastes at times. Some levels are really cool, some are bland. The best ones are the castles, by far! Good to hear there's actually great levels. Might just try to find em and see which might be favorites and which I better stay away from. (-lvl-) Hum, I see. Well, at least Gigantti-stores in Finland sells this for (suprise suprise) 45 € per game. (-l_0-);; Just wish I'm not wastin' my money up on quick-done game since it's bit difficult for me to get. But thanks guys. (-l,l-) Might get it sometime and then I give out my thoughts on this again.

Super Play Movie 2 is even more jaw-dropping.
