Another supposed leak. This one adds a final boss to the mix: the original Playstation mascot, Polygon Man. Also some stuff I don't have a cite for yet but is buzzing around the net: A level is the time station from Ape Escape, and an AE Monkey is a minion. EDIT: A cleaned up version of the last leak: Note Spike from AE.

I see so many characters that seem like horrible choices, yet no crash, spyro, tomb raider, snake or tekken.

I see so many characters that seem like horrible choices, yet no crash, spyro, tomb raider, snake or tekken. There's Tekken. I see Tekken. And although Snake isn't there, Metal Gear still has a character in. The other three probably aren't there because Crash and Spyro have been more successful on Nintendo consoles over the last ten years and Tomb Raider was never really a Sony thing anyway. Most people I know played those games on the PC.

Tomb Raider was never really a Sony thing anyway. Most people I know played those games on the PC. Well...yeah, considering how the first five or so games were Playstation exclusives. And Crash and Spyro aren't nor have they ever been more popular on Nintendo consoles. The series themselves are tossed from one developer to the next like a prostitute giving free handjobs. And you can bet that whatever company owns Crash and Spyro now will demand they put this and this in over the characters we loved in the past.

If Crash doesn't get in, I'll be surprised. None of the past whatever games have been popular at all. Or good. Crash is a has been who's heyday was the PSX era.
Spyro, though, I wouldn't mind if he sat out this game. He's having some success with that Skylander thing. Sure, it's not really the kind of game for us, but little kids seem to eat it up. Hes not just solely linked to the Sony systems anymore.

Well...yeah, considering how the first five or so games were Playstation exclusives. They weren't. The first game originally came out for the Sega Saturn, then got ported to Playstation and PC. The second and third were PlayStation and PC, and the fourth and fifth were PS, PC and Dreamcast. Basically, the series came out for everything except Nintendo. But there's never been a Playstation exclusive Tomb Raider. Misunderstanding. What I meant was the Crash and Spyro games of the last ten years have sold better on Nintendo consoles, not that the recent games are more popular than the old ones. I know they're not.

Wasn't Crash Bandicoot more or less considered Sony's mascot for awhile? I remember him doing the usual '90s cool guy' pose near the PSX logo whenever I saw it magazines. If he doesn't get in it's probably because Activision is being a prick about terms and the developers don't think it's worth that much trouble adding a character that isn't really associated with Playstation anymore anyway.
Also I seriously hope they change the method of killing off other players. Killing by using cutscene style super moves only seems like it would get really old really really fast.

He was absolutely the Playstation's mascot in the West, and was one of theirs in Japan too. He's been hinted to be in too, but I don't have the cite for that on me right now. It was a tweet from one of the directors of a picture of a jetski very similar to this one. Apparently a well known promotional picture.

I have to admit that last part sounds like it would be pretty true for the Spyro franchise if it appeared in the game. (" Use the Money making Skylanders version or no Spyro for you! " An interesting irony in terms of your "prostitute giving free handjobs" comment, Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells said that the post ND Crash games are "It's a little bit like watching your daughter do porn"

I can see where the current Spyro design is a big step back, but I honestly don't see what's so bad about the Crash one. I like it more than the old one. I never really liked Crash's design in the first place, though. All the best characters in the series were bosses.

Wasn't Crash Bandicoot more or less considered Sony's mascot for awhile? He was by the fans, but Sony themselves HATED the fact that people saw Crash as Playstation's mascot. Sony even went out of their way to try to make their own game that would have a character mascot Sony. These are Jason Rubin's (co-creator of Naughty Dog) words: [/url])[/ul] but I honestly don't see what's so bad about the Crash one. Two words: Tribal tattoos.

With today's Gamescon reveals of Sackboy, Nu Dante and Spike, we can pretty much confirm the image at the top of this page. So, fuck yeah Sir Dan.

Right. Crash of the Titans sucked because Crash has marks on his arms now. What infallible logic.
(Psst. Trying playing the game before you rip on Crash's appearance.)
