Quote from Serebii.net
"the characters in the World Tournament are downloaded via the Nintendo WiFi Connection"
I don't know... Sounds like the characters will just appear there to battle with no profound dialog. Who knows.

Huh. That definitely looked like it was by the same people who do the anime. Same drawing style, shading, backgrounds, effects... even some of the same voice actors. I wonder if the clips are from an upcoming special?

It seems to be promotional for the game only. But it's pretty awesome, It's cool to know that's how the battles look in the game, and it also pretty much confirms that the villains always aim for the trainer when they battle.
Also, there's a popular theory that's being thrown around a couple places on the internet: That the Shadow Triad is the Striaton Trio. It does make sense when you think about it, and the fact that Cheren is the first Gym leader instead of them makes me wonder if, if this theory is true, they no longer run a gym and are ninjas full time or if they'll pull a Gen I Giovanni.

..Just because there's three of them too? They must use some crazy Zelda level ninjutsu then, changing their hair and bodies like that.
Either way I hope the Triad are a bigger deal in B/W2. I totally expected me and my rival buds to have a three on three boss showdown in B/W1, but they just kinda disappeared from the story at the end.

Doesn't Bianca say that she was with the Striaton triplets while you were inside N's Castle with the Shadow Triad? Unless she's secretly Ghetsis I can't see it being true. XD

2 silly theories in just 2 pages. Now that's a healthy ratio! That (awesome) clip confirmed Team Plasma for those unsure. There is also one screenshot of the game with Team Plasma Grunts, Rood of the Seven Sages and two females similar to Anthea and Concordia. The bad Plasmas are probably just the ones in black, though. And the Cynthia fan service that took so long to happen: she'll be reappearing like this in the Best Wishes 2 series of the anime, guiding Ash and friends towards eastern Unova. Doesn't Bianca say that she was with the Striaton triplets while you were inside N's Castle with the Shadow Triad? Unless she's secretly Ghetsis I can't see it being true. XD To be fair, at least the English line went like this.

The trailer got taken down. Today. Like five hours ago. Before I could see it. #Sob
Anyway, I reallyreallyreally would be super-disappoint if the gym leader/champion resurgences were exclusively tied to Battle Tower/Tube/Subway/Island/whatever the stupid thing is this time. So much wasted potential, you know?
I came in here with something else to say, but...I've totally forgotten what it was. Go me!

OH WAIT I REMEMBER NOW.
Serebii.net posted a couple videos and pictures that looked really interesting: the trainer fighting against a robotic Tyrannitar. That would have been so incredibly awesome, and it's something the games could really make use of: boss battles against non-Pokemon. Say one of the shadier villains of the series decides that just relying on Pokemon isn't enough; he figures, why not game the system and make robots or security systems that can stand as a first line of defense? They'd be able to defend themselves, but the trainer would still have to battle them as if they were taking part in a Pokemon battle. Maybe even the moves the bosses use aren't available to any Pokemon, either.
But, no...the roboTyrannitar is just part of one of those silly diversions. Instead of the musicals, BW2 has PokeWood, where you partake in making movies. You attack a metal panel with your pokemon and are stationed against a green screen, and what you do is reflected in the finished product of the movie. Booooo.
Innovation is for pussies, I guess?

If they did that, people would just start bitching that they couldn't catch it. I think part of the series' charm is that literally everything you battle can be a member of your party. That was certainly something that drew me to it (and pissed me off about the various other monster-raising RPGs).
Thing is, if they're going to take the time to program more enemies and attacks into the game, wouldn't it be better for them to be ones we could use? Giving us NPC boss fights seems considerably less innovative than this movie making thing to me... every other RPG that exists is doing NPC boss fights already.

Just because it's not something available to the player doesn't mean it's not worth anyone's time. Is it a waste that Master Hand and Tabuu have special attacks you can't use in SSB? Or that bosses in Skies of Arcadia (or any other JRPG I guess?) have access to moves the party doesn't? No, it's not, it just makes it a strategy that needs adapting to. As for not being able to catch something in the game, an unobtainable boss creature/robot/jar of pudding shouldn't really get up anybody's backside. They would have to deal with it. Seriously, it'd be a little gasp of fresh air to a series that hasn't changed its core since its inception. Yeah, I caught it on Serebii the other day. Looks pretty awesome, but minus points for pretending the female trainer doesn't exist. XD

Seriously, it'd be a little gasp of fresh air to a series that hasn't changed its core since its inception. But you're saying right there... every other series out there is doing that already. You're wanting Pokémon to innovate by following others and sacrificing one of the things that makes it unique. Backwards logic? What would it really add to the game to have a monster you'll see in one battle and then never see again? What is the point, really, in having an untrainable monster in a monster-training game? What is innovative about a bog standard boss fight? I understand these things you're saying and yet they sound like madness I don't even You know what would really be innovative? Treasure chests. Fling some of them in there. EDIT: I get what you're saying, TEi. I do. And I don't think it'd hurt the game to have an NPC boss stuck in there. But I also don't think it'll add anything significant, which is usually the stuff that gets trimmed first when a game's being fleshed out. I'd much sooner they bring back walking Pokémon or give us multiplayer Wi-Fi Battle Subway or let us dress our Pokémon in stupid little outfits than give us an enemy we'll see once and then forget about.

Treasure chests? We got those pokeballs containing items since day one.
Oh, and I've always wanted to fight like, Team Rocket's tanks like in the Anime. Hell I always wanted an NPC boss, the closest thing we got was Ghost Marowak. At least, can't we have more stuff like that?
