Okay presentation over, and it's only been 40 minutes! I thought it would go on for an hour (and also not be choppy as hell). Must re watch all trailer, must heavily analyse SSB trailer with fine tooth comb

Megaman looks great, an excited to see an Animal Crossing player get in. Really dig the look of the 3DS version, Wii U version looks alright.
All up not a particularly overwhelming show. Is DKC Retro's game?

That was the animal crossing character USING balloon fighters gear.
I'll admit DKC was a surprise, but I hope that Retro isn't making it because I wanted them to make something new.
Little bit concerned at the amount of "2014" content.

All up not a particularly overwhelming show. Is DKC Retro's game? Think so. DKCR was good fun and this will be no different, but since a lot of folks expected Metroid or some old franchise revival they're a bit grumpy. How many of these games are getting a '13 release though? Saw a loooot of 2014's passing by. |

Japanese Smash Bros site is up. Got the trailers on there so you can see it all more clearly, plus lots of pretty screens.
EDIT: No 3DS screens for Villager on there, that's interesting. There are for Megaman, though.

Whew... alright, now I'm back from watching all those E3 stuff. Let's see... - 3D Mario is a 3D Land sequel. Didn't expect that. I like the transparent pipes and dragon thingy and all that. Also yay for characters with different abilities in a simultaneously multiplayer game. - Mario Kart 8 looks outright awesome. They should call it Mario Kart 13 (6+7) instead. The downward slope part reminds me of SA2B. - New Donkey Kong. I'm between "cool!" and "meh" for this one. It's great and all, but it also feels limited. I don't want to play as Donkey Kong given this roster. Now can I ditch DK and play as Diddy or Dixie alone as in DKC2? Probably no, so meh. - Still no name for Monolith's game? - Smash Bros for 3DS and Smash Bros for Wii U looked great thus far. I like how the trailer turned out. Animal Crossing Villager (why not Mayor to fit in New Leaf's theme?) was a great surprise, since the existence of an AC character was denied in Brawl seven years ago (yes, that long). Mega Man was expected, though.   These would make great posters if not for their low resolution. Outside of the presentation: - The Mario & Luigi 4 movie outside of the presentation is pretty good. Holding the system sideways is back, and the entire screen gets to see some 3D! I always thought developers are too afraid to use 3D on the touch screen, and Alphadream is being awesome in this aspect. - Nabbit's loot will be counted again after clearing each stage in New Super Nabbit U. Nothing special, but it makes it even more obvious that Nabbit is a theif who loves stealing. |

Also pretty sure I saw a Balloon Fighter in there That's the AC villager using the balloon headgear as one of his abilities. |

Super Mario Bros. 2 + Super Mario 3D Land = Super Mario 3D World. YEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!
This is exactly what I have been wanting for so long. I wanted a 3D Mario game where I can play as Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad and they would have unique abilities like in SMB2 (average Mario, high-jumping Luigi, floating Peach, and speedy Toad). Cat suits are just awesome. I am really crazy about cats (I have four cats) and I love that the SMB2 cast will wear cat suits in this game. They appear to have similar homing mechanics as Sonic's homing move (that's how it seems like to me after playing Brawl) plus the ability to climb up walls. I suppose this will make up for Toad not having the ability to climb up walls like in Wario's Woods. I wonder what's the story gonna be if Peach doesn't need saving this time.
Mario Kart 7 + F-Zero GX = Mario Kart 8. AWESOME!!!!!!
That's pretty much all I got to say about it. I am just happy that Toad is playable here too.
Donkey Kong Country 2 + Donkey Kong Country Returns = Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
I am very, very happy that Dixie Kong is playable this time around. I am very glad that there are underwater levels too. Too bad there are no Kremlings, though. Maybe DKCR3?

Sonic: Lost World, X, and DKC: Tropical Freeze are my main reasons to want a Wii U right now. I guess Smash Bros, too... I hate to be that guy, but I'm still waiting for the reveal of the big changes Sakurai said he was going to make, because it looks like I've played this game before. I'm not writing it off. It's still very early, and we know little about it. They only revealed characters and stages so far, which is what I think most people are interested in. I like that Mega Man is in it, of course, but I'm looking forward to finding out the major gameplay differences. On a separate note, going back to Sony, it's been officially revealed that PS4 is region free. I'm not into importing games, but I'm really surprised by this. When was the last time a console was completely region free? The PS4 is really becoming a consumer-friendly console. (The anti-XBone, if you will.  ) |

Super Peach 3D World, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and DKC Tropical Freeze are all due out at the end of this year. Looks like things are looking up for Nintendo from here on.

When was the last time a console was completely region free? The PS4 is really becoming a consumer-friendly console. (The anti-XBone, if you will. ) Actually PS3 was advertised as region free too, but if you bought a game from outside your region, any DLC from your region's PSN store wouldn't be compatible with it. Have they confirmed that's not gonna happen this time? |
