Actually PS3 was advertised as region free too, but if you bought a game from outside your region, any DLC from your region's PSN store wouldn't be compatible with it. Have they confirmed that's not gonna happen this time? I don't know the answer to this. I haven't found any info on it. But now that I think of it, the 360 was technically region free also, but included the option for games to be region locked. I guess that was the same for the PS3, so it's probably also true for the PS4.

Was there no mention of the Wii U GamePad's NFC during this E3?

They did no hardware announcement. All Nintendo did this year was to show games (which, to be honest, is all we need). None of them used NFC.

Too bad. That's the perfect way to bring Smash Trophies to life, you know? Just like the NFC figures from Pokémon Rumble U (a game which I didn't see announced for the West, btw). Not like that was any likely to happen, though. Maybe individual franchises other than Pokémon will do it later down the road.

Like they're going to make 400+ figurines. But it'd be nice if they make real life versions of just the characters. I still say all this E3 needs are games (because that's what Wii U is missing - it's 3DS all over again), but yeah...
Wait, Pokémon Rumble U didn't get any Western announcement?
