Look like you get your wish Nester, KT just announced that there will be a DLC pack for the new Legends characters for the Wii U game. Also they revealed the games that the new DLC content will be from, Link's Awakening with 1 warrior (Prince Richard please), the DS games with 1 warrior, and ALBW with 2 warriors.

Sounds like it's just the characters and weapons, and not any of the new story missions. But that's OK. I'm still working my way through the Twilight map, and I'm more excited about new characters anyway. And it'll be a lot cheaper than forking out $40 for the 3DS game. (Probably $10-15 for the season pass, if the exchange rate is any indication.) EDIT: The official site just confirmed it is US$9.99 (CDN$14.09) for the season pass. EDIT 2: Actually, that's the price for everything except the Legends character pack, which is an additional US$12.99. So all together, it costs more than the first season pass for only extra characters and weapons? Lame.

To be fair though, you do get 9 characters, vs just the three that came in the previous wave.

So this is what I know about the Hyrule Warriors Legends DLC packs so far:
Master Wind Waker Pack - 16 new My Fairy costume pieces (3DS only) - The Master Wind Waker map for Adventure Mode with one new adventure battle scenario (3DS only)
Link's Awakening Pack - new playable character - new weapon for Linkle - 16 new My Fairy costume pieces (3DS only) - new map for Adventure Mode with two new challenge battle scenarios (3DS only)
Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks Pack - new playable character - new weapon for Toon Link - 15 new My Fairy costume pieces (3DS only) - new map for Adventure Mode with one new adventure battle and two new challenge battle scenarios (3DS only)
A Link Between Worlds Pack - two new playable characters - 15 new My Fairy costumes (3DS only) - new map for Adventure Mode and one new adventure battle and two new challenge battle scenarios (3DS only)
I guess we are getting 4 more characters in addition to Medli... my guesses are Marin, Linebeck, Ravio, and Yuga... and Toon Link's new weapon might be Phantom Zelda. (I wish Makar is playable too)

That's a reasonable list of newcomers, I'm hoping for Prince Richard, Linebeck, Osfala, and Irene, but expecting Marin, Linebeck, Ravio, and Hilda.
If we get Marin we may end up with 3 harp fighters, we need some more swordies.

And here we go.

I couldn't see it being anyone other than Marin. Prince Richard's cool and all, but he's not a Zelda character. May as well ask for Yoshi.
I doubt we'll get Hilda either, since she's already a costume for Zelda. But who knows.

I think a crossover character in my crossover game would be awesome, but Yoshi never appears as a character so I wouldn't even consider him.

It's not reeeeeally a crossover game though, everybody in it is from Zelda. Maybe you can't speak to Yoshi like you can Richard, but he still cameos in Link's Awakening, so it's just as valid. Or Kirby or Wart. I'd feel a little cheated if any of those cameo characters were included as the representative of Link's Awakening, personally. I'd rather have an actual Link's Awakening character.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on our criteria. Personally I would love to see old non Zelda characters like Takamaru, Richard, and even the trio from Marvelous appear as warriors. Hell, what I really want to see happen down the line is a Hyrule Warriors X with characters from Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Metroid and other similar titles.

I'd like to see that too, but it's not really Hyrule Warriors, is it? That's just Nintendo Warriors.
What I'm saying is, as a fan of Link's Awakening, I'd be pretty pissed if the character for the Link's Awakening DLC was a character from a totally different franchise who just happened to cameo in Link's Awakening. Especially when this game is already so lacking in pre-OOT stuff. It'd be like them announcing a WarioWare character for Mario Kart and then it turning out to be someone from another series who just showed up in a 9-Volt microgame.

Nintendo Warriors implies the roster is relatively evenly split among franchises, I want everyone in HW to be there with more added on top.
I understand where you're coming from, it's no secret that the game is tilted in favour of games from the 3D era. Hell, my #1 wanted warrior is Horsehead from Zelda II with Sahasrahla behind him.

I'm pretty sure after seeing the success that was this series, they'd take other franchises into account when making a future DLC, though I'd much prefer "Nintendo Warriors" being a sequel. Maybe we could get a Fire Emblem or Kid Icarus Pack, even Kirby.
But first give me Groose and Vaati.
