So, what do you guys think about this one? Personally, I think this game looks pretty fun, but I guess it's getting mixed reactions. The Dynasty/Samurai/Orochi Warriors games seem to be divisive in general, where people either love them or hate them. I've never played any of them, myself, but considering I've spent most of the month playing Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara over and over, I can guess which camp I might fall into. Also, it's not the first time Nintendo has dabbled in the Warriors games. Takamaru was a character in Samurai Warriors 3 on the Wii, and there were Link and Samus costumes in Dynasty Warriors Vs on the 3DS. But having the entire game set in the Zelda universe is more appealing to me than just a cameo. And I kinda like the name Hyrule Warriors. (Or something similar, like Hyrule Knights.) But I get the feeling Nintendo will think, "That name's too cool. Let's change it to 'Link's Sword Action Training.'"

This is going to be one of those games that's average in every possible way, but is loads of fun to play. Give me a dozen or so characters and I'll be content.

If it's a Warriors game it'll be filled with lots of characters and special attacks. Playable Ganondorf, Shiek, Impa, etc. If they neglect these features, I'll be seriously disappointed. These games are usually only fun for the different characters.

I haven't played much Dynasty Warriors since 3. Is there a chance this will have multiplayer?

Multiplayer has been pretty much standard in Warriors games for a few years.

I wanna talk about this game. I'm a huge One Piece fan so I decided to buy Pirate Warriors 2 and I'm having so much fun. The more I play the more I wanted to see other games follow the Musou formula and I remembered Hyrule Warriors, so what kind of characters do you guys want to see?
For the record, it's going to have characters from most of the Zelda games, timeline won't matter. They'll come up with a story to have so many different characters suddenly appear together.
Aside from Link, I bet we'll get Shiek, Ganondorf, Demise, Impa, the Seven Sages, Majora, Skull Kid, the Three Goddesses, Midna, and Vaati.

I expect this game to have a character cap at about 12-15 characters, the first game always has a small roster.
So far we've seen Link, Zelda, a character who looks like Impa, and blue haired girl. Naturally Ganondorf has to lead the evil faction, and Twinrova will probably be a part of it. I hope Tingle appears as an unaffiliated character who causes havoc for both armies.

I figure since Auonuma has a part they might break the tradition and make this one the de-facto Zelda Warriors. It'll be a great idea to put all the improvements they'd otherwise add later into this game on a system that desperately needs some killer apps. And do we know about Zelda and a blue-haired girl? Where are they in the trailer?

When it comes to the Warrior series, I find it best to set expectations on low. They're fun games, but Omega Force loves to cut corners.
This video is an analysis of the trailer and at about 6 minutes in they go over the characters.

According to Siliconera, Hyrule Warriors is expected to be released in Japan this summer. Interestingly, it's being published there by Tecmo Koei, whereas Nintendo is publishing it everywhere else.

Oh, was it? I don't remember that. I thought it was just 2014.

For the rest of the world it was always 2014, but Japan was summer. And the publishing was known since February, it was listed on the release schedule as a third party game in Japan, and published by Nintendo everywhere else.

I'm super excited for this game. If the roster is good and they implement the combos and techniques from Pirate Warriors 2 then I might actually go out and get a Wii U.
