No way, they released one of the biggest 3DS games last year with Tomodachi Life. If you meant NST, then I can see where you're coming from.

No, I meant SPD. Tomodachi Life only did well because Nintendo wanted it to, surprisingly. (But did they want anyone to know that they made it?)
WarioWare, Rhythm Heaven, and those others don't get enough respect from Nintendo. Remember what a breakout hit Game & Wario was? No?
Besides, how often do Sakamoto and those guys get to talk about all this in interviews? What is SPD's current status anyway?
And yes, NST is stuck on Mario vs DK duty forever. I'm actually both surprised and impressed that they got to make Metroid Prime Hunters at all.

As much as I want it, I don't think we're gonna see a new Golden Sun. Here are my predictions.
-New Mario Kart tracks are finally shown. -Smash DLC is shown with new stages thrown in for more money. -New IP by Retro. A Nintendo FPS that's not in the Metroid universe. -New Metroid sidescroller with absolutely no talking. At all. -Some crazy crossover game is shown. Something like, Kirby and Captain Falcon racing.

Realistically, I think internally (at least in Japan) SPD is virtually looked at the same as EAD. If a game is made from either department they're only showcased as Nintendo, not Nintendo EAD or Nintendo SPD because that much information isn't important for consumers, just people like you and me.
I think the real root of the issue is that NoA can be very reluctant to go to bat for any game that isn't part of the "Nintendo Elite" like Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon. Iwata even had to give NoA shit in the early DS era because they were dragging their feet when Brain Age was being released.
As for what Sakamoto's team is doing now, I imagine they're working on Rhythm Heaven 4. After Tomodachi it is the most popular IP from his team domestically and it is going on 4 years since Fever was released. I would also keep an eye out for an international release of Band Bros. P announced this year.

I just noticed that the new 3DS has Z buttons, so I'm gonna add a new prediction.
-Gamecube games on Virtual console for Wii U and N3DS.

Let's see... conservative predictions: - Pokémon announces Pokémon 6.5, slated to release in 2016. It will not be called Pokémon Z. - Yoshimoto's YNN add-on will be indefinitely delayed and eventually cancelled. - Xenoblade 3DS will come out in summer, while Xenoblade X will be available in 2016 in all regions. - The new Zelda is actually more complete than we may think, and will come out on 21 November like big Nintendo games would. - We have already seen everything in Mario Maker: no more themes, no more enemy types, and Mario could very well be the only playable cahracter. Please tell me I'm wrong. Wilder predictions: - Nintendo takes note from StreetPass Mii Plaza, Tomodachi Life and Smash Bros. and rehauls the Mii system. - Mewtwo's Final Smash will not be a Mega Evolution. - There will really be more Smash DLC characters than Mewtwo. - Devil's Third gets more than a TBA release date. - Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem gets more than a TBA release date. - Any of those PlayStation / PC games I have interest in but would not buy due to platform / control issues gets ported to 3DS. -Golden Sun 3DS, it also ends on a cliffhanger After several disappointments in a row ever since Mario Tennis for GBA, then followed by Mario Tennis GC on Wii and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, I'm not even sure if I'm going to like another Camelot game as much in the future. I would also keep an eye out for an international release of Band Bros. P announced this year. I'm not sure about Band Bros. P. That game looks as Japanese as ever, and have music games ever done well in the west? And yes, NST is stuck on Mario vs DK duty forever. I'm actually both surprised and impressed that they got to make Metroid Prime Hunters at all. They are a research company, and their (actual) latest work is the Nintendo Web Framework, which basically allows JavaScript games to be executed on Wii U. The Wii U version of Mario vs DK is a demonstration of that.

I'm not sure about Band Bros. P. That game looks as Japanese as ever, and have music games ever done well in the west? DDR? Guitar Hero? Just Dance?

I'm not sure about DDR (haven't heard about that in a while). Guitar Hero, yes you're right. Just Dance is a music game, but rhythm and instrument playing don't play as heavy a role. Meanwhile, Project mirai and most of the rest of the Beatmania line are virtually unheard of. Given Jam with the Band's complexity and style, it definitely falls into the more Japanese range among music games. So yeah, you're right that there quite a few well-known music games in the west, but I'm still not hopeful about the new Jam with the Band.

- Devil's Third gets more than a TBA release date. Itagaki, himself, said he was authorized to say that Devil's Third is coming out in 2015, but he couldn't be more specific. My prediction: Nintendo will schedule a Direct for this month laying out their plans for the first half of 2015. That's all I got.

Here's another: Yuji Naka's new game for Wii U will get a trailer.
Apparently it's scheduled for a 2015 release, but nobody really knows anything about it.

You mean this game? (Or did you mean an English trailer? Or is Yuji Naka working on another game?)

I can't believe I didn't put a new 3DS Fire Emblem on my list. I was actually expecting an announcement for a few months now.
