I was not sure about a new FE bfore the announcement, seeing that they're still pumping out new FE13 merchandise even in 2015. I heard that FE9/ 10 will be getting soundtrack CDs though, so it's not like old games are excluded from getting those stuff.

The big thing is that the gap between Awakening and If is the largest gap between two Fire Emblem games since the Super Famicom era. That, and also knowing that 2015 marks the 25th anniversary of the series made it extremely obvious that something was coming.

Whoa, it has been that long already? Their 20th (FE12) felt not too long ago...
I thought they'd like to keep Awakening's "latest game" status for a while, riding on its success (and wait for the potential surge of new players brought in by Smash). And I was expecting another Ylissean tale instead of this, which members of Serenes Forest speculate to be Elibe-related.

I was expecting them to make a kind of BS Fire Emblem game for the eShop focusing on Ylisse, but I guess they figured to move on.
I saw that Elibe speculation, frankly I'm not buying it at this time.

Huh. Did I not make any predictions for 2013? That's strange, I could have sworn I did. Ah well. My gamer-psychic powers dictate that 2014 will see... - Something new on the Paper Mario front.
- Tropical Freeze releases, of course. A certain krokodile makes a kameo.
- Pokemon Z announced. Releases 2015.
- Takamaru for SSB4! As a regular, ordinary trophy. =/
- Nintendo releases a buttload of new games. One of us overbuys, and accidentally creates a black hole trying to make all the games fit on the shelf.
No new Paper Mario, no Kremling cameos in Tropical Freeze, no announcement for Pokemon Z...but I actually undershot Takamaru, given that he ended up an Assist Trophy in SSB4. And once again, the world is still a thing so clearly no one's overbought anything. I don't really have any predictions this year, unfortunately. So I'll just sit this year's predicting out.

Not much longer to go, but still time for predictions!
- Star Fox with co-op are a Arwing Amiibo. - Animal Crossing Wii U with that could work with those leaked Amiibo figures. New feature includes ability to pan for gold using Gamepad. Possible other tool use/customization features using the Gamepad. - Another upcoming Smash Bros character reveal. - Diddy Kong Racing by Monster Games. - More Fatal Frame V details. - Blast Ball fully revealed to be some sort of multiplayer mode for a new Metroid. - Splatoon update, Tower Control mode details and more Amiibo cosmetics. - More new 3DS titles to make use of the new NFC scanner/Amiibo. - Roy DLC for Codename STEAM. - Some more info about Devil's Third and release for NA. - English voiced trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles X. - Zelda Wii U 2016 teaser. - Eternal Darkness with some sort of Vitality Sensor feature.

Huh? E3 prediction? I'm only 10 minutes from it....
I, um...
Actually, I'm too excited for Fire Embelm if and Super Mario Maker that I don't really care about any potential new games. Just give me more Mario Maker showcase.
Anyway, a few quick predictions:
- Another Smash reveal, but not for immediate consumption - Additional Mario Maker feature, whatever that is (playable Luigi please) - They'll finally talk about what last year's Miyamoto games (Star Fox, Giant Robot, that other game whose name I forgot) are about - Blast Ball in details - Um... 2.5D Metroid?
Also, the inevitable: Nintendo-themed phone games. E3 is industry-oriented, after all.

As much as I want it, I don't think we're gonna see a new Golden Sun. Here are my predictions. -New Mario Kart tracks are finally shown. And released over a month ago... Actually shown before E3, surprisingly enough. Fuck. Who saw that Federation crap coming? I like to think Paper Mario X Mario & Luigi count. Though, it's not too crazy. I just noticed that the new 3DS has Z buttons, so I'm gonna add a new prediction. -Gamecube games on Virtual console for Wii U and N3DS. Goddammit Nintendo.

"crap" I dunno about you, but I like the idea of a cartoony Metroid title.

It's hardly a Metroid title. Looks like a F2P game, honestly.

Is it me, or did this feel like E3 2012 all over again? Miyamoto introduced Pikmin 3 (or in this case, Star Fox Zero), but the rest after that dwindled.
No, it's not bad or anything. I too like the notion of a cartoony Metroid. If Zelda gets that, why not Metroid?

This year's coming to a close, and unless some game company out there decide to make sudden announcements at this time, everything should be set in stone by now. Time to laugh at those "conservative" predictions. Pokémon announces Pokémon 6.5, slated to release in 2016. It will not be called Pokémon Z. Wrong. No news on new releases of main series Pokémon. Yoshimoto's YNN add-on will be indefinitely delayed and eventually cancelled. Wrong. YNN was eventually released. Xenoblade 3DS will come out in summer... Correct. While Xenoblade X will be available in 2016 in all regions. Wrong. Xenoblade X came earlier than that. The new Zelda is actually more complete than we may think, and will come out on 21 November like big Nintendo games would. Wrong. We have already seen everything in Mario Maker: no more themes, no more enemy types, and Mario could very well be the only playable cahracter. Please tell me I'm wrong. Correct, unfortunately. And for the so-called "wilder" predictions: Nintendo takes note from StreetPass Mii Plaza, Tomodachi Life and Smash Bros. and rehauls the Mii system. Wrong. It's still up to individual games to improve Miis, and the base Mii system is unchanged. Mewtwo's Final Smash will not be a Mega Evolution. Wrong, but it also works nothing like charizard and Lucario, so... I'm half right? There will really be more Smash DLC characters than Mewtwo. Correct. Devil's Third gets more than a TBA release date. Correct. It is already out. Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem gets more than a TBA release date. Correct. I'm playing it right now. Any of those PlayStation / PC games I have interest in but would not buy due to platform / control issues gets ported to 3DS. Wrong. If anything, a 3DS game I have, Yumi's Odd Odyssey, was ported to PS Vita. So much for labelling my predictions conservative or wild. I'll think about next year's later. This should be more exciting than this year's, because of the NX's announcement.

-The final version of Star Fox Wii U announced at E3 and released in Q4. -Zelda Wii U released at that time as well. -Captain Toad gets DLC level packs. -Splatoon releases in May. -Metroid title for 3DS announced at E3. -First half correct, second half incorrect (was originally correct at one point). -Nope. Delayed to the end of this year. -Nope, just some useless amiibo shit. -BINGO. -Not what I expected, but nailed it.

Two days until E3. May as well do some predictions here. - Girl Link is a real thing. As in, female option for Link. Not a separate character.
- Mysterious, and potentially misleading title, like how some perceive Twilight Princess.
- Yet another mysterious princess or villain figure that isn't Zelda, Ganon, Vaati or anyone we're familiar with.
- Link shown fishing.
- Link shown playing an instrument.
- Complete walkthroughs of at least two dungeons.
- New non-RPG-related sidequests in Pokémon Sun and Moon.
- They still won't show anything beyond Prologue and Chapter 1 in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE.
- The games they said will be shown really are all of it. No announcements, not even chances for reporters to ask any questions.
- Unexpected guests in StreetPass Mii Plaza.
- Netizens ranting on the lack of NX despite being warned well in advance of it.
I'll think about next year's later. This should be more exciting than this year's, because of the NX's announcement. Ugh, my big mouth.
