I find the most popular stages to be Final Destination, Hyrule Temple, Corneria, and Pokemon Stadium. The least popular are Icicle Mountain, Flat Zone, Poke Floats, and Yoshi's Story. Why is this? The popular stages are all relatively flat and large. There aren't any moving bits, and the stages allow for maximum movement even with four players. Even though the Stadium changes over time, I have noticed that people tend to... well, stop fighting. Whenever I play with friends, and at least two of them are really "hardcore" with Smash Bros., even they stop fighting to try and wait out the change. Go figure.
The four least popular stages all have on thing in common: they favor certain playing styles. Flat Zone is very small without much room to move; Poke Floats is constantly changing; Icicle Mountain stops fighting and forces you to move; and Yoshi's Story is small, boring, and lends itself to no excitement whatsoever. In my own gaming, I've found that with these stages, Brinstar Depths, Rainbow Cruise, Big Blue, and Mute City are also not very popular with my friends. It's a shame, because I love Flat Zone and Brinstar Depths, and hardly get to play them in groups.
And I would bet dollars to donuts Peach gets a new B AND Forward B.

Well hes making all the characters from the ground up. I think taking out some characters is fine since, I must aggre, some are rubbish. No one really liked the clones. Plus you can add more new characters.

If I remember correctly, I think Sakurai said "1 or 2 more, maybe?", meaning it could be three, it could be zero. And it doesn't include Snake.
I hope Peach gets changed. Her B moves could easily be those emotions, and maybe Daisy or Toad could take her original moves.
^ B - Joy
Peach flies up in a cyclone
B - Anger
Peach goes on fire.
B > - Sadness
Peach runs into the direction she is facing, crying.
B v - Calm
Peach heals 5% damage.
And also, if you look at the SSBB trailer, you will notice Metaknight and Pit have 3 jumps. Maybe some characters have 2, while the winged characters have 3?

I think the winged characters get 5 jumps, ala Kirby and Jiggly.
I don't want all of Peach's moves replaced with ones from SPP, since most other characters have a variety from a variety of games. I could see the Toad block being replaced with, say, a heart, like in Double Dash, and the Parasol changed to look like the one from SPP, but both could still function the same. And if Toad gets in, I could see him stealing Peach's B-Down move aswell.
I think emotions would make a good super, though.
Regarding stages, I like a nice mix, but I prefer something like Pokemon Stadium (I hope there is another morphing stage or two in Brawl) and maybe Peach's Castle. But I'm happy with anything. And as a sidenote, anyone that considers themselves too "hardcore" at Smash to fight when Pokemon Stadium changes is an idiot - I hate this whole 1-vs-1, no items, Final Destination tournament scene that goes on with Smash.

I heard of these [sick] ideas for SSBB. That lawyer guy, who uses speech bubbles, evidence, and smashing on a table to fight you, and Rob & Hector, where you controller ROB, but when Hector is destroyed you lose a stock.

You mean Phoenix Wright? Bleh... that would be rubbish.
If we're going to have some kind of snooping law-bringer character, give me Anata (Tantei Club) or Mr. Stevenson (Gumshoe) any time!
Mr. Stevenson would even come with awesome music!
I hope they drop in at least one character exclusive to the US. After all, Mr. Stevenson and Mike Jones were both developed in Japan, and are well-loved!

I would like to know some more characters before release, but not now - otherwise we'll be waiting 8 - 16 months (more than likely closer to 16) with no info.
I also don't want to find out the secret characters beforehand, but thats gonna require me to avoid about half the internet.

It'd be so cool to just be playing and all of a sudden.... NEW CHALLENGER!: ROB the Robot! I've got a three step plan for this when it comes close to release: 1.Don't go to GameFAQs or any other video game site that isn't Nintendo DB. 2.Beg for Fry not to mention the secret characters on the main page and make a rule about talking about the characters without a spoiler warning. (And edit any posts that don't follow the rule!) 3.When I get the game ask HOW to unlock all the characters, but NOT WHO it will unlock. (This would probably come later. After I've unlocked several characters and can't figure out how to get the rest.) |
