Well... to be honest.... the bongos made my arms hurt... I always liked the storylines that the pre-JB DK games had, and the teeth DK has in JB look really ugly.

Continuity is good for consistent and clearly-maintained storylines. Unfortunately - only Metroid has this honour on my site F-Zero had it (even better I might add, actual years ftw) until those silly anime spinoff games. Does Super Metroid take place in the 20XX years or has so much time passed with the Primes that it is now 20Y5!? Also. I still love the DKC games. DK64 is kind of eh. I don't get where all the bashing of DKC came from. DKVine has long theorized it as a combination of Rare spite (Rare was the shiznit until they left, not their a fanboy punching bag) and Miyamoto worship (since he didn't like the games). Which could be valid reasons for some people, I think. I don't think they're totally off base with that. But Miyamoto disses a lot of games. I was rather annoyed, for instance, to see him blast F-Zero GX and Nintendo's partnerships with companies on those games. Sure, Star Fox Assault was pretty awful. But GX was heralded as one of the best Sci-Fi racers ever.

Okay, that's fair enough...the difference is that you were capable of saying those things without blowing a gasket, or looking like an obsessed man with nothing left to truly live for. I can respect your and their opinion for what it is, Roberto; it's the way DKVine guys present their opinions that bothers me and makes me call them lunatics. XD The anime spinoff games don't count as regular F-Zero canon, last I checked. And they are pretty bad... As much as I respect Miyamoto, he's not the be-all-to-end-all as far as video game criticism goes. I happened to love F-Zero GX and found Assault to be a passable sequel (just very short). That he can get so haughty is kind of annoying.

Great, we have YET ANOTHER jungle stage for DK. Personally, I wish they'd drop the usual cliches when it comes to DK and give him some more original stages for once. Oh, and I'll take DK64 or any of the DKC's over Jungle Beat any day. Does Super Metroid take place in the 20XX years or has so much time passed with the Primes that it is now 20Y5!? The Prime games take place in the middle of the metroid saga, whilst Super Metroid is the second-to-last game in the series (chronologically), while the series ends with Fusion (since all the metroids are extinct in that game).

I think the real reason why people dislike the DKC franchise is becuase it doesn't seperate it's self from other platformers. The other thing is that the games put a lot of focus on collection, DK64 expecially. In that game you had to get Crystal coconuts, Banana Faries, Bananas, Banana coins, Golden bababas, ammo, orange gernades, and probobly some other items I'm missing.

Yes... yes, I was quite aware of all that. ;D

Well.... finding the Bonus Barrels in the DKC platformers was enough, but DK64 was basically Banjo-Kazooie XL. Instead of barrel chucking, tag-teaming and vine climbing in each stage, you had to find 5 Golden Bananas for each Kong, 100 regular Bananas for each Kong, 5 Banana Medals, 5 Blueprints, 2 Banana Fairies, 1Battle Crown in each stage, along with the 8 Boss Keys and the elusive Nintendo and Rareware Coins in order to beat the game. That's one mother of a game. Actually, one of the things I like about the game is trying to map out a strategy to find all that junk in the least amount of time possible. The lowest time I got was 25 hours and 40 minutes.

I couldn't tell where I was or what I needed to do next! I would be playing as DK and saw some Diddy bananas and then I'd have to backtrack all the way to the beginning of the level to switch characters. That game needed a map.

After the second world, it's much easier to just collect all of one Kong's items, than go on to the next Kong. Sometimes you might need to swap for a brief moment just to hit the occasional Kong-specific switch or something, but otherwise it can be straightforward.
Dang, all this DK64 talk makes me wish they'd revise it and put it on the DS, like with SM64.

I always like collect-a-thons myself. So that make DK64 AWESOME XD. (But BK's notes kill me)

Makes me wonder if Fu7sion is truely the last game. How do we know none of those Metroids esacped. There were space pirates. Metroids still exist. If you, ahem, remember.. SPOILERS Samus finds out that the BSL Labs were a stint for the Galactic Federation to secretly clone Metroids (hence "SRX," the SR-388 environ on board). She finds a whole hall of Metroids in all stages of evolution during one portion of the game and sends it careening back to SR-388 to save the station from crashing into the planet (pushback from releasing that part of the station, I guess). In the end, some of the Metroids survived and began to evolve on board, with the final boss being an Omega Metroid (and a Samus team up with SA-X). In the end, Samus remarks that she's now not only a renegade from the Federation, but she basically undid the entirety of her efforts for the past 6/7 games. OH WELL

Except SR388 got destroyed completely. Still. There's probably more than one Metroid breeding center.

Hopefully someone will continue the story. maybe Retro will after Prime.
But, clarity check here. By crashing the station she get;'' sher self in trouble with the galactic federation, but what makes the end of fusion make all of her effort void? Plus, can she still use her Power suit

Yes, but now rather than merely having wiped out the Metroids held by the Space Pirates in Metroid, Super Metroid and presumably the Metroid Prime series, Samus now also has to contend with her employer who is breeding them. There's nothing saying the ones on the Fusion station were the only ones being bred by the Galactic Federation.
So bring on the sequels!!
