This stage is based on the look and feel of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, which was played using the DK Bongos.
The key here is to keep climbing up and up.The tropical setting is quite nice. The screen slowly scrolls upward, so if you don’t want to get left behind, you’d better get to climbing. Oh, and don’t forget to pummel your opponents on the way. You’re climbing up, but the water keeps flowing down, down, down. The screen’s constantly changing, so it’s fun just to watch, too.The top of the waterfall isn’t the top! Keep climbing!Hey! What’s at the top? Huh?Hmm...I wonder...

The bad news is that it looks exactly like the Ice Climbers stage.
The good news is that it doesn't look like this:

The better news is that you can climb up ladders this time.

Absolutely brilliant! Jungle Beat stage to replace the Climbers stage! I am now hopeful for a little bit of awesome DKJB music to accompany it

Awesome! I'm glad one of my favourite platformers is getting some SSBB love. Also, I don't think we've seen Meta Knight in a screenshot before. Maybe tomorrow's update will be about him? EDIT: What are these things? I don't recall seeing them in DK:JB.

Also, I don't think we've seen Meta Knight in a screenshot before. Maybe tomorrow's update will be about him? Nah, we have, plenty of times. Among others... hee ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya. Stage looks sexy. Much more dynamic than Icicle Mountain - ladders! Planes! Mysterious switches! Me like.

The ladders seem to suggest a much greater emphasis on traditional platforming. Here's to a HUGE adventure mode!

The ladders seem to suggest a much greater emphasis on traditional platforming. Here's to a HUGE adventure mode! Everything seems to imply a huge single player adventure mode to you. Nah you're probably right, it seems pointless to only implement them in this stage. Some people have suggested a DK Arcade stage as well, which I think would be great. Climbing? Crawling? Swimming next kthnxbai.

I hated the Ice Climber stage so I will probably hate this one to.

Oh, this is fantastic! He kept the scrolling stages, which I loved but most hated, AND he made a sweet DK stage to boot This is worth not getting an update to that story mode

Everything seems to imply a huge single player adventure mode to you. It's the logical move from SSBM to SSBB. Sakurai did say he wanted a more accomplished single-player mode, and now he's not restricted by the Gamecube's launch schedule, it makes sense! Climbing? Crawling? Swimming next kthnxbai. Silly Buttons. 'Kloveyoubyebye

I like the new stage. I always loved the Ice Climber stage because I could always keep on with the stage, while my opponents tended to get left behind.
Still, I can't help, but think that this probably isn't good news for the Ice Climber stage or the Ice Climbers.

What!? NO Gangplank Galleon!? Lessee, DK gets the Ice Climbers treatment, while we already saw that Mario got the F-Zero treatment. It seems that all the stage archetypes are shifted from one franchise to another. Maybe Fourside will be converted back into a Pokemon stage?

Oo-(or Dai-, I don't know, KANJI IS EVIL!)taki-nobori? Reminds me of Odoru made in Wario, surely...
And actually although this is based on Jungle Beat, this reminds me more of King of Swing.
And yay! Characters can CLIMB!
