DON'T ASK FOR MY SOURCE. You will not be disappointed...

There are 34 playable characters (excluding transformations).
There are 20 starting characters, 14 hidden characters.
Six characters have been removed from the last game.
One of the "Original 12" has been removed.
There are 15 newcomers (excluding transformations).
All but one of the represented franchises from Super Smash Bros. Melee will be returning.
Two character profiles will be revealed this coming week at the DOJO!! (one veteran and one newcomer).

Mock me now if you must, but I'll certainly be having the last laugh. By the end of the week, you'll see that I'm correct with at least two of the above points.

But here is something new that the guy who wrote that said now.

First off - wow, I'm from GameSpot, I must be lying! Truth be told, I've been a member at GameSpot for well over two years now... I think I joined summer 2005 or so. Again, don't believe me if you so choose. I know that I'm correct, but I also know how difficult it is to believe others over the Internet. I wouldn't blame anyone who thinks I'm lying.

I myself am obviously not an inside source by any means at all, but I've got some VERY close contacts within the gaming industry, some I'm not sure I want to disclose. I'll just say it's not Sakurai, but let's keep it at that.

I was correct on two points, as I've stated. Peach's profile and Pokémon Trainer's profile. Anyone counting those as one point is being a little too technical.

But what about that fake "GamingRing" roster on another site? That wasn't posted by me. The only gaming site I've ever registered at was GameSpot. I've never even heard of "GamingRing".

There's a few recurring characters on most people's lists that only made it as Assist Trophies. Some people won't be happy about a few of those...

Ness is gone.

The next confirmed newcomer will be Lucas.

I personally actually believe him...

If Lucas does appear next, I will believe the man for certain. If not, then I will write this off as wishful nonsense. If he is right, and Ness is gone and Lucas is in, then that means one thing.

If this is pure analysis instead of leaked info, Lucas from Pokémon doubles his chances of nailing it (even though that Lucas wouldn't be an "elegant" prediction).

If Lucas from Mother 3 appears, I wonder what would Sakurai say on his respective update page. "Huahua, this is from a game that didn't appear in your countries but will in SSBB"? At least Marth and Roy had the excuse that no Fire Emblem game was released everywhere at that point...

OK, makes sence. I hope it's not about Dedede or Diddy. They are loved (getting 5s on the poll). Would suck to see them end up as assist trophies. Maybe someonee like Wolf.

I serioulsy doubt that Dedede wouldn't get in. There are so many movers he could do! I mean, hes got a hammer...and...can fly...yeah. He needs to be a character.

Plus he's been segested since SSB. Diddy not as much, but he is still emensally popular. I wonder if it will be the Starfox characters?

Any one have any math that says 34? Thats a bit of an odd number don't you think 17*2. also 34 is 0x22 (22 in hex).

There are 20 starting characters, 14 hidden characters.

Again why the odd number? why not 15 Hidden making the full count 35?

See this is where I might expect an odd number, and yet heres 15.

Falco's just basically a Fox clone. I wouldn't mind if he was gone in favor of Krystal or something.

Wha.. Wha.. Krystal!?
Falco is by far a better character more established and can be modified from his original move set. Krystal is so much of a damsel in distress she makes Slippy look brave.

I am beting that the characters that will only apear as Trophies are along the lines of Kristal, Wolf, Geno, Lucairo and Ridley, those never made much sence as sure bets as much as people were claiming them to be. Dedede and Diddy on the other hand make sense as playable characters, thats it, if they want to have more rep from Donkey Kong and Kirby series(besides having Metaknight playable but No Dedede doesn´t make sence, as Dedede is the main antagonist of Kirby games, it would be like having Kamek but no Bowser)

Regarding obscure characters like Flint, Sukapon, Takamaru, Mike Rogers, Lip and Jill (From Drill Dozer) I would even be happy to see them as Assist Trophies, since I never seen them quite viable to apear in Brawl (due to their lack of popularity, but if any of them make it I an a Happy Man

Finally, Im 100% sure that Lucas is remplacing Ness, but if this guy is right and Lucas is the next character shown, I might to start avoiding his posts as I strongly dislike spoilers (numbers are ok, as well as clues, but characters is Spoilers)

Spud, you forgot Young Link, and the last point (2 characters) was what he ment by two points. Also, Sonic AT would make me cry.

But, is Ridley is an AT (which seems likely to me) then he'd make a pretty good one. Flying around the arean attacking people. Going into the background and swooping at you. I say, that would be awesome.

Well, I've personally never played Star Fox Adventures...or really anything on the Gamecube, so I wouldn't know what she could do. I've just seen her with a staff, and that's fine with me.

Hmm, Young Link. That would make better since than Falco.

I strongly think he's using statistical analysis to determine these results and using "I have people" as a show off-ish cover up.

And don't worry; if Sonic's in at all he ain't an AT.
