Stafy IS popular though, but didn't we decide that WASN'T the reason a character gets added? It's just what Sakurai whimsies. Oy vey... have we learned NOTHING from the Dojo?
Stafy being an AT basically seals the deal: almost ANY character can be an AT. Nobody is safe.

Why are Takamaru, DeMille, Sukapon, and Stafy the ONLY popular Japanese characters? Did anyone forget Lip? She was voted second only to Sukapon in the Melee polls. And she also got two votes in the Brawl polls.
Anyway, I am beginning to think that Lucas and Marth will be the only Japanese characters in Brawl. I would be surprised if Takamaru is playable but I think Mega Man will take that unconfirmed franchise slot between Sonic and DS.

Lip's flower wand became an item again in SSBB, which is why I believe she is deconfirmed. Even though Screw Attack, Fire Flower and several other items were also used by playable characters, Lip is too difficult for Sakurai to convert to any SSB title.

Agreed, Lip is from a puzzle game, it would be way to difficult to remake her for SSBB!

Dr. Mario is from a puzzle game and he was playable. Granted he had to copy Mario's moveset to work. But really, what's stopping Sakurai from making up block-dropping, spatial-switching, and flower-fairy-based moves for her? He made up Captain Falcon's whole moveset after all.
But anyway, I, too, think Lip is not playable again. She might be an AT, performing chains and combos with the blocks in the background to drop garbage blocks all over the stages. Still, she would make an interesting character.

If there is a character that represents the puzzle genre, I'd still plump for Dr. Mario ahead of Lip, due to the fact that he already has a moveset (which I'd like to see modified from melee).
Lip could be an AT choice though.
