With the current roster, I guess we can hope that Demille might be a alternate costume for Ness. Or maiby that Nintendo has'nt fully finished the game yet... pray pray pray... This deserves a facepalm, am I right? maybe...don't want to get flamedYeah, I think it does. A little hopeful are we. But seriously, it seems only 2 characters are Japanese only, and one of them will probably be in the west in a future release. I guess Sakurai stayed true to his word.

You're talking about Fire Emblem DS, right? Am I the only one who hopes that Mother 3 may be released here later if Lucas is well recieved? Or is it just blind hope? After all, we got Fire Emblem after Melee.

Ness was well received in 64 and Melee and we haven't seen any indication of anything from Mother being released (Mother 3, Mother 2 GBA, Mother on VC, etc)

Point taken... Although it looks like we may get it on the VC. And Mother hasn't been released yet on the VC in Japan. I wish Nintendo would just put it on ours, tho. Its not like its not translated.

That's true.. which is why I think what Sakurai said about Nazo no Murasame Jou is a bit silly.... he would put Takamaru in if Nazo had a new game coming out when he put in Ice Climbers and Pit when they had no games coming out and still no new games coming out anyway.

After all, we got Fire Emblem after Melee. Yes, it was FEDS. But I don't think we'll ever see Mother 3. It's too late in the game and Brawl won't help it enough to meet what Nintendo wants.

And you really think they care about what the public wants? No, they just add what "they" like, they don't really care about the public, unless it is VERY populair, and then it's usually as a clone "Wolf" "Toon Link"...

And you really think they care about what the public wants? No, they just add what "they" like, they don't really care about the public, unless it is VERY populair, and then it's usually as a clone "Wolf" "Toon Link"... What are you talking about? Why are you complaining? I've already covered this once before... but let me revise. The original Super Smash Bros. on N64 contained ALL of Nintendo's most popular videogame heroes, and then some relatively obscure ones (Ness, Captain Falcon, Samus). Melee brought in a crapload of even more obscure heroes and "secondary" characters. There's simply no option for Brawl but to include totally obscure heroes (Pit), bizarre heroes that might not work (Pokemon Trainer, Olimar), or even more secondary characters (Dedede, Meta-Knight, etc.) Thing is, they've added a good mix of obscure, bizarre and secondary in Brawl. The problem, however, is that if you ask the general public who they want in the game, the secondary characters will be most requested as they are known. The bizarre heroes might be requested but you have to accept they're not likely. Only die-hards like us request totally obscure characters like Demille or Takamaru. So Sakurai and Nintendo gave the public EXACTLY what it wanted. But we're not the public. Hell, we're not even "normal Nintendo fanboys" round here. We're the ones who know every game, and every hero, from the 1970s onwards. We want the unsung heroes of the past to be thrust into the limelight by a game like Brawl. But nobody cares. We are a tiny minority of the gaming world. Obsessive, tucked-away in our little blue forums, grumbling away.

That's the problem. We know too much about Nintendo, and we teorize about super obscure characters that never had a chance to begin with.

Good point Super Smash FryguyX But rukifellth, you must understand that not every characters can be in Brawl. If you've seem any other SSBB forum (becuase we were actually level headed about this) you'd know that most people hated the roster with a passion. The truth is, no one will be happy. The only way to make everyone happy is to have every Nintendo character in the game, and that's just impossible. That's where Sakurai steps in. He tries to make the game where it will pease the most amount of people, as well as each character be fun to play as (thus ROB).One could argue Wolf got in over Krystal becuase Wolf has been around longer, so 64 fans knew him as well as the new fans. A lot more people have played 64 then the other Starfoxs, so it's a good choice. If we look at DeMille, who would he please. He's a Japan-only character for one, and his game didn't do that well there. There isn't much of an audience. But, if anything, that this away. Not everyone will be in the game. I really wanted Issac, or some GS stuff. But, in my mind, I knew it didn't stand much of a chance. So, no Issac in the Final Roster. No problem. I knew he'd probably miss the boat, and that's ok. DeMille didn't stand much chance either. Sure, you can still like the character, but you must remember, likely or not, they might not be in. It's not to hurt you, but to make others happy. ATs are a great thing becuase they let more characters come in. Sakurai has done better with each game to add even more references to the game. DeMille may be in there, so buck up. The game will be fun, and enjoy it for that.

I would just like to step in here and remind everyone of a little something...
In 2001, everyone reacted EXACTLY the same way to Melee's roster. Mr. Game & Watch was hated for being a stupid idea, Marth and Roy were hated for being too obscure, all of the clones were hated, and everyone didn't understand why Wario and Pit weren't in the game when "clearly" they deserved it more than all of the above.
And you know what? Everyone forgot their initial reaction and the Melee roster became standard. When the game is in everyone's hands, and everyone HAS to play with what they're given... then Brawl will become standard too.

That's true. Which is exactly why we have to complain now before we forget about it! We owe it to ourselves!

That's true, Fry. I have to play with what I am given by Sakurai... and I know I will grow to appreciate the roster eventually like I did with Melee. I am really interested with the Stage Builder and the Subspace Emissary. And certain new stages look fun to play in (Electroplankton, for one). Ahh, enough talking about Brawl... I'm gonna play Melee now.
