Maybe Chocobo could be a better Square Enix representative than Geno because the bird would represent the Final Fantasy franchise as opposed to the doll representing the Mario franchise. Better to have a character that appeared in Mario 3 on 3 basketball (such as Black Mage, Cactuar, White Mage, etc...) |

Answer: Nope, and that's why it would be Cloud... To promote his games to Nintendo fans and to get Final Fantasy Fans to buy Smash Bros.

Think:Are Final Fantasy fans the same as Smash Bros,. and Nintendo fans? Moreso than you'd think. the old school Final Fantasys were an important early 3rd party franchise on the NES and the SNES. The first one was published by Nintendo, and teh 4th (released in teh states as 2) and the 6th (3) were as well. I think Chrono Trigger and Legend of Mana were as well. And thats leaving out Mario RPG. All in all, Nintendo is important to the success of SquareSoft, probably moreso than any thing else. And for the record, I don't see how Cloud is emo or whiny at ll. Squall? Perhaps. But I didn't like FF8 very much anyway. |
