What ATs are supposedly cut from the full game anyway? Also is there any proof they were actually in the demo in the first place (video, pictures)? Sounds more like some dudes made shit up what they saw at the demo stands for gamefaqs e-honor (whatever that's worth).

Sakurai also said Animal Crossing characters aren't suited to be fighters in Brawl... yet he made R.O.B. a fighter?! Now... I am NOT complaining about R.O.B.'s inclusion (I LOVE R.O.B.) but I am complaining about Sakurai's bias against Animal Crossing. I mean, so since Animal Crossing characters never fought so Sakurai decided not to make a playable Animal Crossing character.... but R.O.B. never fought and Sakurai turned him into a killer fighting machine?! Come on now. And Duck Hunt Dog is a Nintendo legend and he gets no nod at all? Not even as a lousy sticker, at least!

I am NOT complaining about R.O.B.'s inclusion (I LOVE R.O.B.) but I am complaining about Sakurai's bias against Animal Crossing. I think you fail to understand the meaning of the word. He has an entire stage, an AT, and an item for Animal Crossing. My gripe though is why add all this stuff for a franchise, and not put in the character as well? Hell, I don't see any Pikmin assists, or Kid Icarus assists... |

"bias" is the stupidest fucking argument I've ever seen. Who are you arguing that Sakurai is being biased against? The creator of certain games series? People from certain countries? Some whiny motherfucker on the internet? No, it couldn't just be that content from those games was skipped for a legitimate reason, its because this man is out to get you personally.
We fucking get it. Theres only a sticker for Nazomojohobo whatever the fucking obscure Japan only Famicom disc system game. Oh no. The game is fucking ruined. Your life is fucking ruined. Never mind the fact that, in the case of Flip, you spend another pargraph complaining about Japan only content, only to then complain they didn't put this fucking japan only dude in there.
We also get it. Theres no Animal Crossing character, because Sakurai felt that their style and personality (happy-go-lucky, basically) didn't work well as a fighter. Boo hoo. I would have liked an AC character too, but its over now. That ship has sailed. Yes, yes, I know, ROB never fought, but he's a playable character now. The difference is ROB was never designed specifically as the Robotic Piece Loving Non-Violent Operating Buddy.
We continue to get it. Theres no Duck Hunt dog representation. Somebody call the waaaahmbulance.
We get it some more. Theres a comparatively small (though still not that small) amount of Wars content. That is a shame. Maybe, though, it has no playable characters because there are no extremely recognisable characters from the series (I suppose maybe Andy, but he's just been thrown away with Dark Conflict just coming out). Also with the 'no real world weapons' rule, its probably hard to give them a moveset. Yes, its possible, yes, he could have done it, but he chose to spend time on other things. A stage was possible, but theres no recognisable locations, so it was skipped.
And beating this dead horse some more, guess what we also get. Geno didn't get in. Despite having 4 votes. Oh noes. Maybe, though, Sakurai and the team realised he isn't actually that popular? Maybe people forget that he's some fucking obscure character from like, 15 years ago that only appeared in one spinoff game, and nobody cares about him. Hell, we don't even know if he was that high in the total number of votes anyway. Maybe the 4 entries shown to us were the only 4 requests for him Sakurai actually got? On a similar token, maybe Wolf got a ton of votes, he just wasn't listed in the poll because none of them were interesting? Or something?
So, basically, what I'm clearly saying, is that Sakurai was out to get you. And now you're onto him. BAIL THE FUCK OUT SAKURAI! THEY'RE ON TO YOU!

See what I mean? For a topic that asks our thoughts on the final roster, we aren't allowed to state our negative thoughts without being called ungrateful whiners.  Thanks a lot. I guess whenever a topic asks for your opinions, it really means only your positive thoughts are permitted. Just because we complain about certain parts of the game don't mean we think the game is ruined or the worst game ever or whatever. It just mean we don't like those certain parts of the game, nothing more, nothing less. |

You mean like the situation with Mother and Fire Emblem's shifting heroes? Didn't stop Snake. Or Captain Falcon. A warzone is plenty recognizable. And besides that, there's the two Battalion Wars games that have locations that are EXTREMELY recognizable. Besides, this didn't stop Fire Emblem. What game is that stage from again? And as a final point, you attempt to reduce everyone else's arguments to mad ravings. So yeah. Where am I getting with that? Wars got jacked. I know it makes me a terrible whiner to think that, much less actually point it out... but hey, I'm saying it. Maybe Sakurai is unaware all these games with Wars at the end are connected. Maybe he only cared about the polls (unlikely). Maybe he's not crazy about second parties. Or maybe he really is out to get me. I don't care about the "why", just the result. Which is a shame. After all, if this is all Wars gets in Brawl... then I ain't holding my breath for it getting anything in SSB4, except for maybe less. |

It seems a bit much to still be complaining about it now. Basically, it seems to have gone on for a little too long. While thoughts on the roster are allowed, it seems to have moved on to complaining about everything. At the very least, try to keep an open mind. If you are going to complain, try to keep it on the roster. None of you will give a hobo anymore about anything when you actually play the game because the overall awesomeness will overshadow the few dislikes. Keep it on the roster? Okay, I really don't like how Sakurai kept the clones and made more clones.
Replace Ness with Lucas? Okay. Because at least Lucas plays similar yet different to Ness. But BOTH Ness and Lucas? Waste of space.
Replace Young Link with Toon Link? Okay. Because that's how Young Link looks like in recent Zelda games. But keep the same old moveset instead of coming up with original moveset based off TWW and FSA? Waste of space.
Keep Falco a clone of Fox? Waste of space. But add Wolf... and make him ANOTHER clone of Fox. A bigger waste of space. Krystal could have been an original fighter with her staff... but no, having three characters who use the same moves but they each look different is even better!
Ganondorf is still a clone? Big mistake. And even his Final Smash works just like Captain Falcon... only it is with Ganon instead of a F-Zero car and without that extra cutscene.
Only Fire Emblem is redeemed with the removal of Roy and Ike being Roy's decloned replacement.
Even replace Mewtwo with Lucario? Okay because at least Lucario is basically an improved Mewtwo (even though I main Mewtwo in Melee).
I am surprised Sakurai took the time to make a new moveset for Diddy Kong instead of making a clone for Donkey Kong with Donkey Kong Junior because that's the easy way to bump the roster numbers.
But even the clones aren't going to stop me from getting this game. I had it pre-ordered since August 2007 (after the Pokemon Trainer was confirmed). And even the lack of sufficient history of Nintendo is not going to stop me from enjoying this game because I am very much interested in certain characters and stages and modes.

Ganon charges across the screen and can hit multiple people. The Blue Falcon swoops from behind the stage and knocks ONE person and no more than one onto a raceway where they are slammed into at F-Zero speeds. How is that a clone final smash? I'm gonna miss Chansey and, obviously, the triple Landmasters is dumb. But I'm sick of the complaining because Sakurai could have made a great game without final smashes and assist trophies, and you would have never known and YOU WOULDN'T EVEN BE ABLE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS. I have railed against Young Link being in Brawl since day 1, but he's in and he looks great. Sure, I wish he could be a new original character, but I can still make Kirby fight Mario and the game is amazingly awesome. Also the "my favorite game only got a sticker and a music" doesn't evoke sympathy from a StarTropics fan.  |

Think of Ganondorf's FS as Mario's Up B and Captain Falcon's FS as Luigi's Up B. Both do the same thing... only difference is one does multiple hits and the other does one hit.
