...and, the reason every Sonic discussion on here harkens back to Sonic '06 is because it's one of the factors that led to most people losing respect for the Sonic series, which Kirbychu can't seem to tolerate. No, Man-Frog. No. Here is what you and Shrikeswind are too pig-headed to understand - I have absolutely no problem with you guys disliking whatever you want. That's your opinion. What I have a problem with is you guys telling me the things I like suck, or shouldn't be allowed in the series, and acting as though I'm some kind of idiot for not seeing this. Which you have done consistently throughout this thread. For reference? "I don't like Silver." = fine. But Silver happens to be one of my favourite characters, so if you're going to say that he sucks and has no place in the series, of course I'm going to challenge that. And I shouldn't have to be treated like some kind of moron for it, just as I don't treat you as one for liking Krystal. To give you a prime example of what I'm talking about, when I say I liked the past-present-future theme of Sonic '06? "Oh gross, you're going on about that past-present-future thing." is not a good (or nice) response. That, my friend is called being a giant fucking dickwad. I'd expect it on the playground, which this is not. So grow the fuck up. |

I want to know what sports are likely to feature in this game.
Skiing and Snowboarding are pretty much guaranteed to be present, but the only other winter sports I can think of are Bobsledding, Ice Skating, Ice Hockey and Curling (WTF!?).
Can anybody come up with any more ideas?

Can you blame me? You're the only sane man I've ever met (read: not one of the DevianTARTlets I mentioned earlier) that seriously tries to defend Sonic's recent failures at every opporunity. I wasn't trying to personally make you look like an imbecile, that kind of thing is best left to the politicians.

I'm not Koopaul. He and Arcadenik are the ones who tried to defend Krystal. I never said anything about that, and my intention certainly wasn't to treat you like a moron.

Naked Winter Ping-Pong. A guaranteed hit every time.
Also, I'm with Danceywear; I'm more concerned with an improved quality of the game than a larger character roster. They can throw in all the undesirable characters they want (I'll keep my opinion on the matter to myself because those whom I like and dislike are irrelevant in the point I'm making), but it needs to be a better game. It's sort of shameful knowing that the first two Mario and Sonic crossover games are, essentially, wagglefests and franchised shovelware. (I'm not counting Brawl here because it's not really a Mario/Sonic crossover due to it being more of a multifranchise crossover.)
...although really, come to think of it, that's the same thing as saying Nintega ought to make a proper game out of the Mario/Sonic concept, rather than a gimmick game...which they damn well should. Whoops.

To be honest, Man-Frog, most of that post was directed more at Shrikeswind. You just happened to be the one I chose to reply to.
I'm not trying to defend Sonic's failures. As a game, I'm quite happy to admit that Sonic '06 is shit. I hate it. But that isn't the fault of the characters or story, which I actually loved, it's purely the fault of the poor programming that went into the gameplay. I feel the same way about Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic and the Secret Rings. Secret Rings didn't suck because of Shahra or the Arabian Nights theme, but it did suck because of poorly-implemented controls.
Aside from those four, I've loved all of the games (with the obvious exception of Sonic Chronicles, the only game in the series I can find no good in) and what's wrong with that? Big is awesome (and my ex-girlfriend's favourite character), Jet is awesome (and my best friend's favourite character), Blaze is awesome (and my best friend's girlfriend's favourite character). Hell, there are even people out there who love Shade. I hate her, but I don't think they're wrong for disagreeing. 'Tis all subjective. And things would be a lot better around here if we could all learn to respect that.

Like I said, DEAL WITH IT. Duh I said that. Why wouldn't I say that? That theme was stretched REALLY thin almost to the point of being forced. It doesn't need to be nice. It needs to be to the point. If you don't like that I don't like that theme either, like I said, DEAL WITH IT. |

Look, I can verifiably prove to you that you're the one who wanted me to back myself up. I don't have to answer to anyone for why I hate a certain character or person. I shouldn't have to. And as things went down, yet again I can verifiably prove to you that you're the one who started the actual argument.
No, "Deal with it" is not a counter-point. It's me saying "Deal with it." As in "If I don't like so-and-so, why the hell should you care?" I refuse to stop being aggressive if you treat everything I say as a direct insult to you. I do admit to being harsh to the point of being out of line right now, but that by no means implies that you should be so thin-skinned as to require an explanation for EVERYTHING.
Expect all you want, but if I wanted to lower your karma I'd have done it several posts back. I don't care if you don't like me and I don't care if you don't agree with me. It's not worth arguing with or not liking someone over an idiot hedgehog, and I'm really annoyed over the fact that you seem to think it is. Maybe I'm wrong to say you don't like me, but does it matter? You're acting just as ridiculously as, and I admit it, I am. It became an argument when you decided that insults were the best way to back up your opinion. Before that it was a discussion. Heard of those? It's what forums are for. I disagreed with what you were saying, so I shared my opinion. You disagreed with my opinion, so you insulted it. And that's why we have a problem.

I shared my opinion on the past-present-future theme of Sonic '06 (admittedly immaturely, but I did share my opinion) and you tell me to fuck myself. THAT'S why we have a problem. And while I would LOVE to stop the argument and get back to talking about Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics, it also seems to me that you're STILL unwilling to deal with the fact that Silver pisses me off. So can we please continue? Or is there still something you'd like to argue? |
