Someone by the name of corbie33 at GameFAQs has Starfy stickers, a Starfy water bottle and a Starfy T-shirt: Have you checked for the birthday message? Yes, and nothing but the Japanese text were changed. And I forgot to mention that at the title screen of the Japanese version, you hear a cute, high-pitched voice saying the name of the game, while in the English version, it was removed, making everything but music silent.

It astounds me to see Nintendo giving this much of a crap about one of their overlooked properties now.

The Nintendo World Store held a Starfy event recently with much of the same swag as the Toy's R Us one had . . . But it also had someone walking around in a giant Starfy suit. Even Mario (not a suit, the Charles Marinet virtual one) speaks about Starfy. It astounds me to see Nintendo giving this much of a crap about one of their overlooked properties now. I think Nintendo (of America) may be trying to make/turn/market Starfy to become "the next Pikachu." Now that may sound stupid but Nintendo did spend 10 million on trying to do the same thing with Kirby . . . and did not succeed. Also footage from the event.

Who did they get to go in that suit? Looks like there's one tiny air hole.
Anyway Starfy may not be the next Pikachu but at least this assures a stable franchise in the West. Some of my stores are sold out. Good thing I already got a copy.

Actually, if you ask me, Starfy is more or less "Miyamoto's yellow Kirby" reborn.

Wow! It looks like Nintendo's working on making Starfy well-known enough as hard as Capcom trying to bring Tatsunoko VS. Capcom outside of Japan.

Now even Mario knows him!

Recently, I read this interview, and when Yamagami talked about this balloon game he tried to develop and make it fun, it reminded me of his Balloon Fight GB interview. Now even Mario knows him! More like Charles Martinet doesn't know him. He lives in Europe, and Europe doesn't have a Starfy game yet, but I guess it's like Mario's from Universe A while Starfy is from Universe B, making them not know each other. Although, they saw each other in SSBB, it's probably uncanon.

NoE's E3 site also included Starfy, but they used the same text as on NoA's site and just replaced "American debut" with "European debut". They also introduced Mario Super Sluggers on their site back then, and there is no word on a Euro release, so this doesn't confirm anything as of now, sadly...

Oh god, Mario meeting Starfy was strangely hilarious. xD
"I'm gonna name you Twinkle!"

They probably met in Brawl, yes. But it's still more like Mario wouldn't have known him much beyond him being a summon. It's not like he'd know who Lyn is from Fire Emblem 7 is, right?
But my theories aside, I thought that was very funny and cute. I wish I was there now, since I love characters/locations coming to life.
So I'm gonna consider getting Starfy at the end of the summer. Is it worth it, guys?

Starfy has to swim to Europe! Hopefully it will be quicker than him swimming from Japan to NA.

Depends on your tastes. The Starfy series has always been short and easy, this one really isn't an exception. It should really eat up your time for about 4 or 5 days, maybe a bit less if you don't have someone to play around with (Yes, download play is available both with Story Mode and the Minigames, although Story Mode only puts out multiplayer on certain areas where Moe asks you if you want to play with Starly). Overall, i'd say it's worth the price, but it's really all up to you. No, i'm not bashing the Starfy series for it's simpleness, I love the little Starfish. I'm just noting it out that it is usually a bit too easy.

Mr. Yamagami said Starfy's neither a starfish nor a sky star. The final boss battle kind of proves that he is like both. Not only Starfy went to the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Plaza, but he also went to the Discovery Science Center, probably located in Santa Ana, California. Here are two photos taken by Gan Ning324 from GameFAQs:
