GAH! It's everywhere!! So where does that appear? <spoiler action="highlight> Early on when Bowser was thrown out of Peach's castle after barging in (and got KO'd by Mario), he landed on a nearby place. A disguised Fawful was waiting there, offering Bowser a strange mushroom that makes him inhale everything. The first thing Fawful said was a catching "A WINNER IS YOU" as soon as Bowser entered the area.</spoiler>

Under the current rules, this may apply. Spoilers for Bowser's Inside STory. Sorta. It's an enemy type at least. In BIS, there is a pitcher plant type creature called a Sockop. At one point, Luigi gets stuck in one and can ride around across thorns in it, like the Kuribo's Shoe. Upon meeting with a group of them, we find out one's name is.... Kuribo.
One of them even remarks, "You were riding around in a KO'd Sockop? That's gross!"

From EarthBound Central."Brownie Brown, the developer for MOTHER 3, has a new DSiWare game in Japan called “Kappa Road”. And it looks like Ocho the octopus from MOTHER 3 makes a cameo in the title screen: Except for the hat, it looks like it’s the same sprite with some possible small graphical touch-ups. If you look closely, you can also see a Pigmask helmet next to him:" Can be seen in this video, at about the 1:00 mark:

OK, Spoilers for Spirit Tracks:
A new item in the game is the Snake Whip. It looks similar to the Rope Snake from Mother 3, but the kicker is you can use it to grapple as Duster does in Castle Ohoho in Mother 3.
You might not judge it to be a cameo, Fry, but it is interesting.

According to a British friend of mine, in this month's issue of Games, Eiji Aonuma confirms the Snake Whip is a reference to the Rope Snake.
So, if you needed confirmation, Fry, looks like you got it in the form of a British gaming mag.

Another possible Spirit Tracks cameo, this time with no use for spoilers. the Star Fragment treasure: bears a striking resemblance to the Star Bits from Mario Galaxy:

With a bit and a fragment being roughly the same, I concur.

I've got another one for Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. There's a toad that stands next to the entry to the bridge that leads to Peach's castle. After he fulfills his purpose in the game, he ends conversations with"It's a secret to everyone."

I remember hearing somewhere that there's a reference to Pit in the localized Glory of Heracles. I forget where I read it, though.

It was mentioned in the newest issue of Nintendo Power in a small preview of the game. The exact blurb was:
“Longtime Nintendo fans will especially appreciate the inside jokes sprinkled throughout. Our favorite example: when the main hero is in need of an alias one of his compatriots suggest Pit, to which another replies, 'Pit? That doesn’t even sound Greek!'"

Aha, that's where I read it. My subscription expired at 149 so I should renew it sometime. Thanks for backing that up!
I can't wait for Glory of Heracles, I almost kind of wish they put Pit in as a character since Nintendo now owns the series.

Wait.... Nintendo owns Glory of Heracles? It is first-party or second-party now? I thought it was third-party.

It was a third party Data East game, but when they went bankrupt, the rights to the series were bought by Paon (where many Data East staff now work). Paon have been working with Nintendo on the Donkey Kong series (King of Swing, Jungle Climber, Jet Race), and Nintendo published the Glory of Hercules game they produced.
However, Paon is not an exclusive first party developer but they do have a closer working relationship with Nintendo. The rights to the series are Paon's though... so it's still technically a third-party series.

Ah, okay. Gotcha. And I was just thinking about how cool it would be for Heracles to be in Smash. LOL Imagine two Greek-themed heroes, Pit and Heracles, teaming in Adventure Mode.

Genius Wario rather obviously has an Ultra Hand. Yet another appearance of this obscure toy in conjunction with Wario.
