Here's an intersting cameo situation for Golden Sun:Dark Dawn I saw from NeoGAF. In spoiler text summary, so Fry doesn't have to watch the videos. (nothing story related) The crystal dragon summon in GS:DD appears to based off the threate chandeliar dragon creature that originally appeared in the North American TV ad for the original GS. The summon evern goes as far to make the setting appear in a threater END Video links This here is the summon in GS:DD. Here's the commerical for the original GS. END

The Star Fragment in Spirit Tracks looks almost exactly like the Star Bits and Giant Star Bits of Super Mario Galaxy. Spirit Tracks Star Bit Giant Star Bit Also, there is a Tingle Statue in a couple of the shops. One is in Hyrule Castle Town and the other is in Linebeck III's Trading Shop. I'll try to get a pic.

I pointed this out a while back, but I recently found out that Starbits are based on a type of candy, Kompeito. Revives in Pokemon are physically based on them too. The name is a pretty obvious nod, though.

@fry
So with the 3DS launching in like a bit over a week in Japan, will you be making a thread for cameos on the 3DS? I am certain Nintendogs will have a bunch of cameos in it just like the last game.

@teev... Awesome eggmond... Probably for the sake of the forums. I was aiming to get a NinDB update done in time for Valentine's Day (to go along with a completed Tokimeki Highschool gamepage feature and guide I completed a week ago). It reminded me of why I made the changes to the site layout ages ago. I kinda flit between pages by system and pages by series every few months. As I do more detailed write-ups (and there's a few on the way) pages by system makes the most sense. It's more work, but it's also way more interesting to me. The rest of the site's content is... meh. But I don't want to get rid of it. So I'm likely to continue on the path of pages-by-series (essentially mini series-based features, some spreading over multiple pages if required). Working out how to present the cameos that appear in each game as well as cameos of each series is a bit of a headache. I'll figure something out. But for the forums, I'll stick with system-based, just to reduce the number of posts. Especially if a WarioWare game comes out

Just to let you all know...
I have nearly completed coding and writing up all the cameos, including the Nintendo DS cameos (many of which haven't appeared on the site before).
I will be aiming to get up the last few system pages (GameCube to 3DS, which are nearly all done) and all the cameos (again, nearly all done) in one mega-update.
I want it all to be finished before E3 so I can focus on the new coverage. Gonna be a busy few days!
