www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/versionup/index.htmlNintendo 3DS update coming on the E3 day (which is no news). This is the Japanese site for that. www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/support/transfer/index.htmlAnd here... you can move the DSi data to 3DS after the update. Sounds very neat, except that the data will be deleted in the old system. It is understandable for the DSiWare games, but regular Wi-Fi connection information and the movie/music in the old system get moved (not copied) as well, which for some reason creeps me out (I always find the idea of data deletion uncomfortable). What's more, they also deletes your DSiWare saves upon moving the data. So if you have DSiWare with uncopiable save data, I'd suggest you not to move the data. As the days go on, I'll be more and more pro-hacking and may one day choose to hack my own units. Nintendo loves to be deliberately unhelpful when it comes to handling user-created data for some reason.

Well, the whole DSiware transfer thing ain't perfect, but at least it's there right?
Konami pre E3 conference had new MGS 3D Snake Eater footage and features unveiled.
Video has an interesting Nintendo cameo at the end.
- "Photo-Camo" will allow players to take a photo with the 3DS camera and use that image as in-game camouflage for Snake's outfit. No word on how this'll affect gameplay as the original game was big on matching the right camo with the right situation.
- Another addition are parts of the game making use of the 3DS' gyro-sensor (the doodad in the handheld that can tell if it's being titled). When Snake comes to a narrow bridge or tree he needs to shimmy across, players will need to tilt their 3DS' to mimic Snake's balance. Otherwise, he'll fall to an untimely death.
- A theory for the Nintendo cameo could be content to replace the Ape Escape MGS content.

Loving the stereo in Super Mario Land xD By the way, I wasn't planning on getting SML. I was looking for a gift option (there's no such an option yet), and hit "purchase" in the process. There's no further confirmation after you hit purchase You guys be careful.

It's flawless as far as I can tell.
I can only complain about the control pad... It's terrible and it even sounds like it needs some oiling... Is one supposed to use only the circle pad? Grr.

*bumps*
If you downloaded Pokédex 3D, you may notice there's a section called "Move Dex" when you check a Pokémon's moves. Among the moves in the database, there are ones that are exclusive to Pokémon from previous generations (Darkrai's Dark Void, Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire, etc.)
That and the fact that there's an update button in the options has led people to believe that, eventually, Pokémon from previous generations will be added to the database.
On different topic, I just learned that YouTube has 3D functionality since 2009. It would be nice if some software could let you capture videos on the 3DS and then interface with YouTube using compatible formats somehow.

Got a 3DS. Thus, a quick 3DS question here:
You know how Wi-Fi games keep saying that the games and the DS unit are treated as a set for the purpose of keeping Wi-Fi settings? What will happen if you use those games on a different DS, or move them to 3DS? Will all Wi-Fi settings be lost, or will the Friend Code be changed, or maybe all online-related data will be reset? I've never tried that one before...

I've never tried that one before... Follow these instructions (using the 3DS's "Download Play" function and selecting "Nintendo DS" as the "kind of title"), and yes, it lets you preserve the Friend Codes of all the games that you used to play on your DS.

Oh, excellent. Thanks!
I just found out that the NA version of 3DS does not allow you to play DSi-enhanced games from other region though. It reads my Japanese New SMB and European Golden Sun 3, but does not recognise the DSi-enhanced Fire Emblem 12.

You know what? The 3DS would be perfect for a Flash Focus sequel. Not sure why I hadn't thought about it. Not like I played the original much... It's just that the 3D business is all about playing with your sight and stuff.
