October 1st is the 20th anniversary of Monolith Soft. They became a subsidiary of Nintendo in 2007.

I like the one with the character collage.
I can recognize most of the characters. Mostly the Xenoblade characters, some of the Xenosaga characters, some of the Baten Kaitos characters (wish those games would get re-released), and the guy from Disaster: Day of Crisis on the left. I'm guessing the two characters just to his right are from Soma Bringer?

The characters to Ray's left are from Soma Bringer, they have spirits in Smash in fact. The duo above him are from Project X Zone 1.
15 years ago today, Captain Falcon took his last lap in F-Zero Climax.

Ah, I love Sky Skipper so grateful they added it. The mechanics/controls can be a little hard and you eventually run out of lives soon, but as it soon gets very hard yet remain fun that makes up for it. I grinded a lot of it got a good score, but haven't practised as much recently so only get about half the score. (I may still be on the highscores I was relatively good like top ten but only because it was the first week then - so I may be quite low now. I saw Cheesemeister's name there I think (the NeoGAF guy). It's very true this helps start new leaderboards, and would love to see new obscure Nintendo arcade games there. I worry a few though like Monkey Magic (if stored) may be too controversial? (Though Switch seems to be lighter on restrictions)
Edit: OK I'm pleasantly surprised. I thought like I'd go into 50s. Still, it gets hard and I don't know if I could ever improve it too much (because you start to run out of fuel hence lives quickly).

It's 3/3 in Japan now, making it the 3rd anniversary of Nintendo Switch! (Actually, now I'm wondering, does New Zealand sell new consoles and games at 00:00 sharp? Not that it matters, because some regions *ahemHongKong* would sell them early anyway, but I'm curious.)
I have 26 games, of which I haven't even touched 6, and I'm interested in a handful more. I love being drowned in games, but will I catch up at this rate? Most of what I have are multiplatform games, but I enjoy being able to play outside without needing a mobile network.

It's also the third anniversary of the critically acclaimed, award-winning Wii U game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. (There might also be a Switch port, but can I really trust Wikipedia?)
Jokes aside, it doesn't seem like the Switch has been out for that long. With the PS5 and Xbox Series X due out this year, it makes me wonder how many more years the Switch has left.

That's relatable re: games. I have a lot I don't play much too.

April 20 is the 30th anniversary of the original Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light on the Famicom.
Of course, the series didn't make its way West until "Fire Emblem" (aka Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken) came out on the GBA in North America on November 3, 2003.

It was cool that Nintendo updated the Famicom app for today. A lot of people haven't seen the triangle attack or ending, so now they have their chance.

Happy 15th anniversary, Path of Radiance! And happy birthday to Lucina!
FE1 and FE11 are rare examples of Fire Emblem games I have not played. FE1 because it's on Famicom, with an awkward control scheme, and FE11 because whose brilliant idea is that to ask players to kill their own units for extra chapters and units?

Fifteen years ago today... I signed up to the NinDB forums. Sorry you've had to put up with me all this time.

You joined on SEGA's 45th anniversary!? I didn't realise that.
Congratulations on hitting a milestone!
I don't remember when did I join; my account info says 17 March 2005, but I'm pretty sure I was at least in contact with Fry before that. Actually, was there a different NinDB message board before this one was set up?
