The development team certainly seems to paying its respects to the series lore. Andross with his SNES inspired appearance, Monarch Dodora, Katt with Miyu's earring, the SF2 walker.

Star Fox is getting the Kid Icarus treatment.

And here it is
Be sure to look out for the few references to Star Fox Adventures and Kirby Super Star near the beginning.

Also references to: SNES style controller and SNES Star Fox. Apparently the game over screen references the Star Fox Super Weekend Competition version. Steel Diver with the design of the sub on Peppy's deskAt 4:17 it looks like there is a Famicom controller as part of the main computer. Surprisingly good animated short. The voice acting was nice. Slippy actually sounds male when he speaks.

I think it was a really good short, I can't decide if I like this one or Palutena's Revolting Dinner more. The part with the chutes leading to the Arwings was very Thunderbirds-ish.

Here's a really good interview with the original English voice cast of Star Fox 64 (many of whom reprized their roles in Star Fox 64 3D and Zero). It's an interesting read.

Here's a really good interview with the original English voice cast of Star Fox 64 (many of whom reprized their roles in Star Fox 64 3D and Zero). It's an interesting read. Pretty good interview. Surprised to hear the guy who played Peppy knows about his most famous line, and yet never got to voice him again after 64. Also thought the radio ad was good to hear. Also in the group of waiting for my copy of Zero to ship to me. I'm been playing SF64 on Wii U VC and I performed much worse than I did when first play the Wii VC version. Is the US version really a little bit faster? I just done so poorly when playing it, I'm failed at basic parts like defending Falco on Corneria and not taking down all of Star Wolf on Fortuna for the first time. I then even lost at hard stage of Venom to Star Wolf (though they are pretty tough to beat with the basic laser and no Falco). The Wii U's N64 emulator really does seem darker than the Wii's version.

Fry said something similar about the controls on twitter. He blamed the gamepad's analog stick for not being calibrated just right, because he was able to do much better when playing it on an actual N64.

Not really related to the topic at hand, but I was browsing through my local shops earlier this week. Much to my surprise, I couldn't find any Japanese copies of Star Fox Zero (I only have a JP Wii U). There are a few NA copies of Zero/Guard, though. Weird.
Shouldn't 60Hz VC games run a bit slower on 50Hz systems? Unless the emulator is trying to adjust for the difference and ended up speeding it up too much. (Insert long rant of video formats, and format wars in general)

My copy arrived today, and I've been having fun. It's not perfect by any stretch, but I'm enjoying it.
