I fail to see why Takamaru shouldn't be in over those two. He's not only a hero, but the main hero of an entire Nintendo action series! (The series consisting of one 21 year old game).

I think the reason he's adding few (if any) Japan only characters is as not to anlienate American and European players. Not that fun when you are saying "Who the fuck is ___" every other character unlock The idea is to have characters everyone knows. While some will still be lost, many fans will recognise characters from thei8r region.
Lucas is probobly getting in either way, and if worst comes to worst, will be the only Japn only characters besides many Marth(he's popular here now). Best, Takamaru is in the game.

Have any of you ever seen this article on TOSE? (The people who made Starfy/Stafi and Super Princess Peach and many other game titles). It's quite an interesting read and also talks about Starfy/Stafi. (Go to the bottom of the article). Here is the link. www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3156447

Because Nazo is such a super duper difficult game to port over to a Western Virtual Console, with all that beefy in-game text and complex dialogue between characters Of COURSE we're going to see Takamaru. NOA let Marth and Roy through, they will let Takamaru through. He oozes potential. Would you rather have an established character like Goroh or Lyn, who basically has to be a very particular way? Or an old character who is ripe with possibilites for upgrading? Think of how popular Kid Icarus and Pit became after the redesign. Takamaru could have the same damn thing. Not to mention Little Mac, while we're at it. There's still a huge likelihood the little samurai in training could appear. Why would Nintendo ditch such a well-remembered and *read*NOT-KIDDIE franchise like that?

I would never understand what people has against Japanese only characters. I mean, I live in Europe, and I've played Earthbound through emulation but friends of mine have never played it. However, they like Ness, and Marth, and Roy, so why can't we have certain characters? Because some mistakes made in management in one region years ago? People who don't know the character may have the chance to know it afterwards, but the ones who want it won't have anything at all.
Is like rewriting history to the likes of a bunch, leaving the rest apart. Totally unfair. That's whay I want to see something Japanese only: Item, assist, music, stage, whatever.

The thing is you should try looking at it though other people's eyes. You know a lot of Nintendo characters. At this point if you see someone you'll probobly know where their from. It's not the same for everyone else. Sure, it canh be fun to learn someone new, but also frustrating. Frusrating because a character was added you've never heard of, instead of one you might have. It's also very bias.Sure, the Japanese wiul love it becuase they know those characters. Not so for the US and Europe, as they haven't seen a lot of them. So, Sakurai figured that in order for everyone to have fun, he'll limit the region only chacters. So, as such Lucas will probobly be the only Japan only character (probobly becuase most Earthbound fans already klnow Lucas, and have imported the game).

Well if they added a Japanese only character (such as Takamaru), a fair trade off would be to add Mike Jones. Then everyone wins/loses.
