I dunno, Koopaul. It sounded like he was pissed at the wind for being good in Hyrule and bad in Gerudo Valley, and by extension, the Goddesses who control it.

Do the Goddesses even control the wind? All the in-game legends I've heard imply that the Goddesses created Hyrule and then just left it to it's own devices.

Do the Goddesses even control the wind? They most certainly do: As you can see, I am no longer taking this conversation quite so seriously

Can we go back to Hyrulean/Abrahamic religious comparisons now? It's starting to feel a welcome alternative to the road this thread seems to be dragging down by a scared moose.

If there's anything I like discussing less than The Legend of Zelda timeline, it's discussing religion...
Unless everybody is capable of talking about it from a purely objective standpoint with no recourse to their personal beliefs... If they are able to actually cite religious texts without leaving out the "bad stuff" (we're discussing the stories here, after all... not how those stories are interpreted by modern practicing religions).

Fry, you're the head of a Nintendo fanboy forum. Your expectations have exceeded you.

Fry, you're the head of a Nintendo fanboy forum. Your expectations have exceeded you. I fear you misunderstand my intentions. By setting impossible conditions, the conversation will either stop before it starts... or be an astounding feat tantamount to a Christmas Miracle!

If they are able to actually cite religious texts without leaving out the "bad stuff" (we're discussing the stories here, after all... not how those stories are interpreted by modern practicing religions). It's been my experience that even when you do talk about religion in a strictly objective standpoint it'll get weird because people tend to misinterpret the cited texts and therefore misunderstand what the text means (therefore, you get "What's (insert verse here) have to do with (insert event here)?") So you have to have an interpretation of the text in order to put it into a context like that. It's the big problem with religious discussion. This is a fraction of the original post, which started sounding like a divergence from the topic. The original featured me picking apart the common interpretation of John 3:16. If you're interested in hearing this, please PM me, but know that I will not be posting it in a thread.

By setting impossible conditions, the conversation will either stop before it starts... or be an astounding feat tantamount to a Christmas Miracle! But you're forgetting one major "or" scenario... Bullshit levels could generate at an all-time high, forever dampening the credibility of any members on this very forum. It's a scary situation, I know, but it's one we need to look out for.

Fry you DO realize that Shrikeswind is the only one who's comparing things to religion... I was just trying to point out that Ganon was a deeper character in WW that's all.

Something I apologize for (and have apologized for.) I try to keep my views out of it, but it's kinda hard for me to pull because, like I mentioned, I'm going through a spiritual puberty. The important thing is that we can move on and should move on, and for that, I bring us to a new point: The Sheikah and speculation about members of the race.
Note that in OoT, Sheik introduces herself as follows: "I am Sheik, survivor of the Sheikah." She never states that she is THE survivor, and as Impa is still alive during the rein of Ganondorf, the Sheikah are still around at least until Impa's death and possibly longer. In fact, one might even speculate that there are at least four Sheikah still alive who we've met without realizing it: Mutoh, Granny, Anju, and Grog, the family of villagers. They appear to be native to Kakariko, which is stated to be a Sheikah village, and all are seen in Kakariko at one point or another (pre-Ganondorf, Granny is gone for field research, post-Ganondorf, Grog is in the Lost Woods and Mutoh is fixing the Gerudo Bridge, but otherwise are always in Kakariko.) Sharp and Flat may have been Sheikah in life, as well. Dampe is the care-taker of the graveyard, also implying some connection to the Sheikah. Now, I know what you're thinking. "Sheikah have red eyes! They don't!" I have a response: There are only two totally confirmed Sheikah in the games, so it's impossible to say that there is a defining attribute about Sheikah from the Hylians, including the red eyes. If I saw one person with blue eyes, it wouldn't automatically make him a seperate species from a person with brown eyes. (By the way, I say two Sheikah to aid in speech. I will refer to a specific game's character as an incarnation, for example, Tetra is Wind Waker's incarnation of Zelda, while if I say character, I'm referring to all incarnations.)

That is extremely interesting. I never caught on to the possible clue that Sheik is not what s/he says s/he is. Or for that matter considered that Kakirio village may be partially Sheikah. Dampe, after all, was a royal servant in a sense.
You guys ever notice how the Sheikah symbol reappears throughout the series? It's Agahnim's symbol in ALttP, it appears on the Gossip Stones. Speaking of Gossip Stones, IMO, the Howling Stones from TP are the weathered remains of the Gossip Stones.

Just because the Sheikah aren't seen doesn't mean they aren't there scattered around secretly.
Also do you think that the Shadow Temple was built in vain because of that quote?

What are your reasons for thinking those people are Sheikah, other than them living in Kakariko? 'cause that's like saying "He was born in Africa! He must be a Zulu!"
