Nonsense, Disney is so creatively bankrupt, they have to buy other companies like Marvel and Lucasfilm to create new films. As for this minigame, it says that it was created by the Disney Infinity Team right in their own twitter post. I'm not angry about this, I just find it laughable how Disney has perhaps the most aggressive copyright lawyers on Earth, but is always the first to look at others for ideas. Calling everyone creatively bankrupt is kinda becoming your thing around here, huh? I won't argue with you on their live action stuff (that department has never been creative), but they're putting out some of the most creative animation around right now, and that's really what Disney are all about. And like I said already, the ink guns were in Infinity since before Splatoon was even announced, so... Other than calling a downloadable map using them "squid wars" as an obvious Splatoon reference, they're not really stealing anything. We mmust also call Nintendo creatively bankrupt for having Squid Girl gear in the game by this logic. And again... it's not a minigame. It's a map you can choose to download, among thousands of others uploaded by the community. It's not part of the game any more than a Smash Bros. custom stage is. Everybody's reactions to this are priceless.

Speaking of the Marvel/Lucasarts buyouts, it's said that Disney purchased them to increase their male viewership demographic. Apparently those live action programs of the 2000's (Eg Hannah Montana) drove away boys from the company, so Disney started buying out properties with large male audiences to get them back (Like comics for the Marvel deal). Lucasarts is kind of like when they brought out Pixar and it's male attracting IP (and massive merchandise sales like with the Cars franchise), with Star Wars under their wing Disney now owns the first (SW) and second (Cars) biggest selling merchandise franchise in the US (or possibly the world). Heck, Disney even spent $500 million get the Maker Studios Youtube channel which includes Lets Players such as PewDiePie, Yogcast, Game Grumps, JonTron and many more and even stuff like Epic Rap Battles of History. (Yes, the linked rap battle is sorta relevant here and a little surprising to see it's ending was even allowed to be made). Disney really, really wants to own everything that hugely popular and profitable and what ever helps to balance out their viewing demographic. After seeing footage of Squid Wars, it doesn't even look that fun, the recreation of Arowana Mall is nice but the gameplay looks pretty bad. There's more shooting of walls than floor with DI default aiming system. The outrage over this is really strange. I remember back in DI 1.0 they promoted a fan creation of Columbia from BioShock Infinite (without saying BI, but still calling it Columbia) and there didn't seem to be any attention or anger over that. I understand that ones a DI Developer creation and the other is fan made but why should that matter, it's not like it's replacing Splatoon. People aren't going to start buying DI in droves to play this one creation.

Have you actually seen a Disney movie? This is a company that made its fortune by raiding the public domain rather than create their own stories. This in itself isn't a bad thing, as that is what the public domain is for, but their efforts to block their own works from entering the PD is simply despicable and has placed them firmly on my shit list. Those that weren't taken from the Public Domain are films where Disney purchased the film rights of novels. Snow White, Cinderella, The Fox & the Hound, Bambi, The Little Mermaid, Dumbo, and others were all created independently of Disney and then just adapted by them. Now when Disney does create something original, they have to make all sorts of unnecessary sequels because they have to get that merchandise money. I can't wait to take my grandkids to Toy Story 36. In Splatoon related news, Hammerhead Bridge will be released tonight.

Oh no, a major business is doing things that major businesses do! How incorrigible!

Disney's most successful franchise is Toy Story. There have been three Toy Story movies in 20 years. 20 years. You're on a Nintendo website. How many Pokémon games have there been in that time? Don't be such a fucking hypocrite.

Need I point out that Fire Emblem is up to its 14th and 15th games, respectively?

Nintendo just put something online called SplatNet. You can log into it with your NNID, and it shows you who on your friend list is currently playing, the current battle stages, rankings, equipment and more. You can also set appointments for when you'll be playing so your friends will know when they can join you. This could come in handy!

Anyone remember when Miyamoto talked about making a new IP a long time ago? This is it. Turns out I was wrong. Miyamoto had next to nothing to do with this game.

So, the Custom Hydra Splatling is coming to Splatoon tomorrow, and it's confirmed to be the final DLC weapon. Then we have one more stage on the way (Ancho-V Games) that hasn't been dated yet, and that should be it for the Splatoon DLC unless I'm forgetting something.

There's still the Octoling amiibo stuff unaccounted for, but otherwise that's it.

Not sure if I find this cute or creepy, but it is pretty cool. Especially the "live" version of the Splatfest dance. Japan is truly the master of the uncanny valley.
